For those conservatively inclined, there is currently a great deal for a combo package yard sign and bumper sticker supporting John McCain. McCain sign and sticker package
Free ground shipping to boot.
If you aren't conservatively minded, please move along. This is meant to be a deal for McCain supporters, not an open invitation to discuss politics and current candidates.
Edit by Moderator- Due to community wishes, we no longer allow political "deals" to be posted in Hot Deals. You can find out more information here.
Wow. These cost money now?! I've already got my Presidential political yard sign, as well as my Senatorial political yard sign, and a number of bumper stickers and lapel pins. And I got them free. All it cost me was listening to a campaign volunteer for about 2 minutes and agreeing to support the candidates I choose to support. Hell, they even put up the yard signs and offered to adhere the bumper stickers (instead they are in my vehicle's rear window). Conservative or not, this is far from a deal.
Most likely those deals are either dead or have just run too drastically off-course. For fairness sake, there is an Obama freebie here. There's no political agenda, because you aren't supposed to discuss politics here - you are supposed to discuss whether or not its a good deal.
paying for a sign to support a candidate? priceless

Shame on those who marked this red simply for personal reasons. That's not what FatWallet is about. Did you ignore the part where everyone mentioned that it's silly to pay for things that are generally offered free? Is it a hot deal if someone charges you $2 to drink from the water fountain?

This is a good deal for a supporter who would rather not attend a campaign rally or take a trip to the party headquarters.
I think it's obvious that this massive red isn't based primarily on price.

I think it's obvious that this massive red isn't based primarily on price. Fatwallet is not a political site nor it is a site to promote any political party. This site is strictly about price and deals for any Joe (not just McCain's Joe). Again, it would a total ripped-off to pay someone to advertise for them. I do the same on the Obama thread as well.

I think it's obvious that this massive red isn't based primarily on price. Why not just make your own yard sign, or donate directly. Official yard signs are rather pointless anyways, and all a bumper sticker does is devalue what you attach to them (and open them up vandalism, and regardless of who is on it, kinda make you look kinda kooky).
If you want this there should be a nearby center with them free, if there isn't one nearby, then for better or worse your state isn't in contention, and it is pointless.
Besides, I honestly don't want to see questionable deals from either candidate, unless there is a rebate involved, or massive CashBack political deals on FW:HD deserve a downvote.
(and saving a grand total of $1 or 12.5% is not a deal)

It's really not a good deal, under any circumstances. This material is generally distributed for free, trips to local campaign headquarters aside. The reason the OP posted it to FatWallet is the same reason the red is flying: politics.
Just in case anyone missed it the first time (and with all the deletions this thread has experience, apparently several people are in this boat), this thread is under moderation to avoid political commentary and to keep it focused specifically on the deal. That means that all posts will come to us mods for review before they see the light of day. And if the post isn't focused on the OP in a way that avoids political commentary, we will drop it into the abyss for posts that aren't going to get through.
I guess this is a hot deal for those "conservatively minded" among us.
Which leads me to wonder if expecting a free sticker or yard sign makes a person a liberal?

Why would you pay to advertise for someone else. Usually the people who can afford it the least would pay for these stuff. A true FW wouod never pay for these.
I strongly suggest that FW should remove all deals that will promote/demote any "political interest" Otherwise, political conflicts will arise and this site is only about hot deal for every Joe (not just Rep or Dem Joe ...) Please bring this attention to Tim.

Usually (as is the case here), we place them under moderation to keep them focused on the deal itself rather than the politics surrounding the deal.
A totally apolitical red for the deal. Let me tell you why...
Go to your candidate's web site and find their local campaign or political party's office. Go there in person and get your yard sign and sticker and I'll bet it'll be a lot cheaper than $7.
I got the sign for my candidate from the local party for $3, when they were selling it at their site for $8. Plus, in my case, the money stayed at the local office where it can do good here in my own community, instead of going to the national campaign where the dough will be spent on TV commercials in battleground states.
