Not clear??

lol i believe this is the really old school PCI, not agp/pci-e

unless you're using an old school machine or else this deal is not even warm for you

seriously if you need a pci card, just get it from fleabay.

alert mods

This is vanilla PCI. The only reason you'd buy this card is if you have an 8+ year old computer that doesn't have AGP or PCIe. In which case, you can buy a better PC with your $50.
Not a good deal.

The title says PCI. The link doesn't work. So yes, it is not clear. But regardless there is no deal here.

PNY GeForce FX 5200 256MB PCI Graphics Card

Nope. Not clear.

Although the package reads PCI. (Nowhere do I see PCI-E mentioned)

Staples has the specs wrong. Going by the model # (VCGFX522PPB), it's a PCI card. Also many other online stores like Newegg have this for around the same price.

Not necessarily true. I've got a dual-head PCI-E video card in my work PC, but an additional PCI video card to accomodate my third display.

FX 5200? Are you serious?

This was an entry-level graphics card back in 2003.

In that niche scenario, just buy this.

Basic PCI video

an obsolete card?

Not a great deal. I bought that same card for about $65 over 3 years ago. If you need a PCI card with 256MB of video RAM, you should be able to find plenty of choices for $25 to $35. That card will outperform most onboard graphics setups by a wide margin, but there is better stuff available for less money.

More importantly, what are you looking to do with it? What kind of PC is it going in? What applications are you trying to run? The specifics of your situation dictate the best bang for the buck.

Staples selling to suckers. i can't believe the cr@p retail joints pass of at those prices. I actually saw this card at Circuit City for $119 recently, so this Staples deal is a bargain compared to that. i just see mom's picking this up for their kid that wants to play a game on the family PC, drops $100 on it, and are left with a pc that can't produce graphics on the same level as a dreamcast. everyone loses

That's actually pretty close to what I use for display 3.

My argument was that there is still a place for PCI video cards - not to defend the one in this particular post.

Almost everyone loses. Staples wins by either making a huge profit on this, or by finally getting rid of their inventory. They may only be breaking even if these cards were purchased a few years ago.

LOL

Got this from Fry's for $10 AR 6 weeks ago. Sure it was EVGA 128MB and not 256MB but this Staples is a terrible deal.

Oh man I lol'd.

This is a really really old card.
I ll ask my grandma if she interested.
