A terabyte (derived from the prefix tera- and commonly abbreviated TB) is a measurement term for data storage capacity. The value of a terabyte based upon a decimal radix (base 10) is defined as one trillion (short scale) bytes, or 1000 gigabytes.

The U.S. Library of Congress Web Capture team has claimed that "as of May 2007, the Library has collected more than 70 terabytes (70,000 billion or 70 million million bytes) of data"

Trivia compliments of Wikipedia. I looked it up because I didn't know what a TB was....

Enclosure runs a little bit hot for sustained usage. I tried it on my dvr and it was very warm to the touch. No fan. Had a WD greenpower drive in it. I fished the drive out (very easy, four screws) and put it in a different enclosure and put a smaller drive in this one for occasional backup use. All worked out fine.

Lot of people report DOA Cavalry units and receiving obviously used and also non functional RMA's. Warranty on drive+enclosure is 1 year, has a seal on it that if broken voids the warranty. Drive inside is WD OEM and should carry a 3 year warranty.

Buy.com had a better deal last week, which lasted for almost a week, so plenty of time to get in on it. Same product for $129.95 shipped, and for most, additional discounts bringing down to the mid - $120's or lower (w/ easily gotten 5% coupon, with a lucky smaller percentage able to partake of a 8 percent coupon).

Same WD GP drive in their as well.
