Amazon lists the red Blackberry 8320 with Wi-Fi for a low price of -$75 (make $75) AFTER rebate and 2 YR contract.

This phone is currently showing as out of stock however my experience with Amazon is they tend to refresh their inventory of phones quicker than the wait time they estimate.

Here's what is cool about this Blackberry 8320:

First, yes in order to use the Blackberry you have to pay an extra $19.99 for a Blackberry data plan or if you want email only (no web) $ 9.99 per month. These fees are on top of the regular T-Mobile plan.

The 8320 uses Wi-Fi and UMA technology to let you communicate either via regular cellular signals (GSM/EDGE) or when you are within reach of Wi-Fi the phone can automatically switch to Wi-Fi and carry your calls over the Wi-Fi/Internet signal. The phone will also make use of Wi-Fi for data and SMS/MMS (text and picture messaging).

You do NOT have to subscribe to any additional plan for the phone to use Wi-Fi. If you want - you can purchase an additional Hotspot@Home plan for $9.99 per month (on top of the base Blackberry data and voice plan). This would get you unlimited voice and data (though you still pay per SMS).

The Blackberry will switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi and GSM.

If you travel overseas, you CAN use this phone on Wi-Fi to make and receive calls and also send/receive email/SMS without any roaming.

The in-store T-Mobile price is $150 after rebate -- making this deal via Amazon approximately $225 cheaper than T-Mobile.

Good deal, but just to let everyone know you have to sign up for Blackberry $19.99 a month until you get your $100 rebate, which usually takes 2 months.

Conditional $250 Discount
The Price listed above for this phone includes an instant $250 discount from Amazon.com. You agree to repay this $250 discount to Amazon.com if during the six-month period following activation you: (1) fail to pay your balance due each month on time; (2) fail to maintain your account in good standing; (3) disconnect the line of service; (4) transfer the phone to another line of service; (5) decrease the value of your service rate plan, including canceling or removing required PDA, BlackBerry, or smartphone features after your product has shipped; or (6) use this line of service to replace an existing account with the carrier. The discount is available only if you are activating a new, non-substitute line of service. If you do not follow these rules, you authorize Amazon.com to charge your credit card $250 as reimbursement of the discount without need for further approval. Third-party resellers are prohibited from purchasing cell phones on behalf of customers. **Purchase limit five (5) single-line accounts per household.**

"The discount is available only if you are activating a new, non-substitute line of service. "

So existing customers can not take advatage of this offer, right?

Furthermore, has anyone ACTUALLY suffered the Amazon $250 'fee' if they pulled the old account after beginning this new one?

Virtually all phone deals require a new 2 year commitment and are generally NOT available for those upgrading or adding family (cheaper monthly) plan members.

This is an interesting deal because it is on the Wi-Fi enabled Blackberry Curve 8320 which was only recently released on T-Mobile. Furthermore this is the only Wi-Fi Blackberry Curve in the USA that will use the T-Mobile UMA service.

If You sign the contract I am fairly sure you can get this deal. I got this same phone in Gray at Costco for $49 including tax and free activation and a 90 day try out period a month ago. I have had Sprint in the past and the only thing that didn't go flawlessly was the transfer of my then existing number because Sprint claimed I have 6 months left on my contract. I had been using the same phone until it died for 6 years. Contract had long since expired. The phone is great especially the wifi features.

Is your new service through T-Mobile? I am thinking of switching and costco sound like a good idea.

Can you buy a 39.99 voice plan and 9.99 blackberry data plan and then change to a bundled $59.99 blackberry minutes and mail and not violate their agreement for the rebate per this wording

(5) decrease the value of your service rate plan, including canceling or removing required PDA, BlackBerry, or smartphone features after your product has shipped

also will using a virtual credit card prevent a charge back of the $250 if they decide to get sneaky when I do what I posted above?
