Best Buy is offering the new Metallica CD Death Magnetic for $9.99 with free shipping. It comes with 11 tracks for Guitar Hero III for Xbox 360 - presumably the tracks are from the new album, but it's not clear. The tracks are exclusive to Best Buy.

I would not pay $9.99 for their last three cd's all togather! These guys are ALL about the $$$, Not about the music.

I agree, not gonna buy just because of the napster ordeal. I still like old school Metallica, however I will no longer support them.

I'm not sure why there is so much Metallica hate, besides Lars maybe.

I wonder if the tracks work on Guitar Hero: World Tour? I wonder because the sicker shows 2 game logos.

Anyway this is a good deal if you like the band and want more songs for GH3.

That's the best Metallica album cover in their discography. A+ for the cover.... not to excited about the album per se...

Yesterday the $29.99 one was not listed on that page. Only the $9.99 CD and LP were.

I love old-school Metallica, but everyone knows the band is washed up now.

No surprise you have to buy this at Best Buy. Metallica still thinks the Internet is just a fad.

I have not purchased a Metallica album since Justice and only liked 2 tracks off Black and when I heard St Anger I threw up in my mouth a little, but I have heard all the tracks off of Death and I actually bought it. It's very old school sounding and I actually like it which surprised me in a major way.

Metallica, like many aging rockers these days, have evolved into a group of tired old
men whose existence seems bent on trying to constantly cash in on their past success
by producing material that is lame, uninspired, and non-relevant.

As fans of popular music, we have seen this movie before...and it is both annoying and pathetic.
For example, If I have to see another reality show promo that includes the likes of Gene Simmons, Sebastian Bach, Tommy Lee,
Vanilla Ice, etc., or another "Final Last Ever Reunion Tour" for $200 per ticket from the likes
of the Eagles, Who, Kiss, etc., I think I'll puke.
(Apparently "Final" means "biannual" to these performers, or at least until they feel the need to cash in again).

Hint to these aging money-grubbers: Let it go. You once were great or had a great moment. You aren't anymore. Have an ounce of dignity.
Your creative output is a thing of the past. The only thing left is your
self-important, ego-maniacal, delusional belief that your "music" and yourselves are
still somehow relevant to anyone (other than the 40-year-old virgin
that still lives in his mom's basement and is still willing to buy your excuse of a CD for $15).

I will download it illegally just because its Metallica and then never listen to it because it will be horrible.

The reason these bands are still around is that it is still better than 99% of today's mainstream music!

I wouldn't give these guys a penny for a CD. I agree with posters above.... after the napster attack, I would not support them. I always liked Megadeth better anyway (not trying to start a debate)
