If you missed out on the Fry's sale, eC0ST.com has the refurbished Panasonic KX-TG1034S Dect 6.0 Cordless Telephone w/Digital Answering machine and 4 Handsets at a good price of $55 + $12 s/h - = $67 shipped. There's also 2% Ca$hback ($1.10) from MS Live . Works in the 1.9 GHz frequency range, so as not to conflict with 2.4 GHz WiFi.

Parts & Labor Warranty 90 Days

The ones from Fry were the KX-TG9334T for $80 delivered and have many features this set does not:

Call block, lighted keypad, VM alert on each handset, headset volume, headset ID (number), night mode, paging, auto talk, barge/join in, hold alarm, talking caller ID (on base and all phones), contrast adjustment, registration/deregistration, data saved in base for all phones to use, and even more.

Best of all, dealing with a good company and a full warranty compared to ec0st and a 90 day warranty.

The 1034s set does have longer talk time.

Outpost / Fry's has had the KX-TG9334T on sale for the $80 price delivered before the one day and and will be likely to have them again for that price. I would wait until the "top of the line" phones are on sale and get those (new).

We bought this phone new (not refurbished) last Christmas. Back then it was a few buck more. We love it, the sound quality beats any/every other cordless phone we've owned.

Second that. I've owned the 1033 (three handsets instead of four) for about half a year now and love it. Great phone.

Does it have mute feature?

Just wondering what kind of range these have? The description says you can put one in the garage but my garage is a distance from the house. Thank You to those who chimed in with their personal experiences with these phones!

OP you need to have thicker skin...looking forward to your next post and thanks for this one, I'm seriously considering this one.

I wouldn't consider Dwynne's remarks threadcrapping, he was just making a point that I think most veteran FWers would agree with. I have been the OP for some of the Fry's deals on these phones and the newer version of it. I think that Dwynne was just pointing out that if you are patient you can get the newer version of this phone, brand new with a better warranty and from a reputable company.

But you're right also, if you need a phone right now and can't wait this is a good deal.

I've personally bought items from eCost in the past, actually since they first started and they have gotten worse. I had such bad experiences with them that I have sworn off buying from them again (I'd rather spend a few dollars more at a place that respects me as a customer). Then again they must be doing something right, they are still in business.

In the end these forums are designed to help everyone get a good deal. But good post OP with good links and info. on CB.
