Which retailer is this being sold by?

seagate.com

It is a consolation offer to those who had their 20$ 80G Portable orders canceled. Not sure how many will consider it a deal though since everyone and their brother was offered it directly from Seagate.

Dang, 160 gigamegs! That's gargantuan!

I've got the same invitation. This is a good price, but I am sure the deal will bring in a lot of reds. Many folks are still pissed off.

If anyone is interested in this you can combine the apology codes like this: STXFA10P,stxbarmor08 and get 10% off and then 40% off for a total of $79.98. The 10% code is like getting free shipping on the 40% discounted price.
But considering that this drive has been selling on eBay for around $60 shipped, this is up to you.

They just figured out a way to get rid of massive inventory of their unpopular products.

Yea this is a ripoff. They screw their customers and then use our emails for marketing crap products? Thanks Seagate!!!

I don't know what most of you have been experiencing with other Online Retailers so far, but I have a far worse experience with Dell than what I've read from the previous Seagate deal post. The last deal I got in on from FW is the Dell PS3 bundle some time ago. Dell didn't offer anything, NADA, just a cancellation email that says "It's our mistake, but you're screwed, and btw feel free to come back and place the orrder at the correct price". If anyone is interested, I can post their response here. Ok, nuf said.

I've been eyeing the Blackarmor for a while now, can't seem to find another portable FDE product out there. This is the lowest i've seen.

In 4 1, thanks OPS!

It is a pretty nice deal, but not for the brothers who have suffered from Seagate's poor CS.

No, if you buy a $25 off coupon for $30 it will cost you $100 plus tax on $95...

Thanks OP.

A client of mine just bought one and they paid $115

They wanted the hardware encryption features.
Good drive I guess, if the data you carry on it is really "that" important.
