This is an all right price, but to be honest there are a lot better choices for voip. For solid service T-Mobile is only $10/month for existing customers and their service works in the u.s. or internationally. I just got a MagicJack to try out while I am studying in Brazil, and it cost me $35 for the jack and a free year of unlimited calling to anywhere in the U.S. or canada on a sale. Then it is only $20 per YEAR after the first year ends. Unlike Skype, magicjack does not care if you are in the u.s. or any country in the world. It allows international users to maintain a u.s. number ANYWHERE in the world with a broadband connection. The only real issue is that you have to have the jack plugged into your computer. Also if you need customer service to walk you through issues, magicjack sucks on service. However, it really is just plug and play so unless you are a extremely slow with technology. My mom even set one up...

Don't forget you need to have your computer on for magicjack to work. MJ's service suck, they don't have any phone numbers to call them at...only an online chat with really don't lead to anywhere. Most of the problems I have with MJ, I just wait it out and it mysteriously fixes itself.
Well, I can vouch for MJ as far as the product goes. You can't beat it really. I have a daughter in England and I sent her one. We talk regularly with it and I have not had any problems. My fear is that it will die because I just can't see how they are making any money. Other than that, the calls are clear, the thing works and I think it is well worth it.

Also, if you enter this address in Maps.google.com, the Street View shows their "Office" - what looks to be in a residential neighborhood. Beware!
Regarding Sun Rocket numbers. The new VOIP vendor can probably recovered it if your old number has not been reassigned. I got my old Sun Rocket number ported to a cell phone recently. I am staying away from VOIP and went with Skype instead - without 911 support.

MagicJack is COMPLETE garbage. I have had it for like a year now and I was patient with it. It sucks then like it does now. They should call it MagicStatic-won't be long before this scam is bankrupt. Obviously, this MJ FanBoy must work for them.

I've had it for about 6 months. It works better now than it did back in Feb/March.
I'm not saying it's completely trouble free, but it's ok. Static is probably being caused by other IP traffic on your network - install a QoS device (like the Hawking HBB-1) or flash a router to support DD-WRT, Tomato, etc and use QoS and that normally resolves any static problems.
I did notice I need to reboot my dedicated phone/media server box once in a while when the MJ gets flaky for dialing numbers.

T-Mobile Unlimited Sim Promotion
This is an interesting service, Can you provide additional details on this?
How long have you had it, does it work well?
Did you port your number over?
TIA.

I use MJ side by side with Onesuite prepaid and voip services, actually as a back up and its pretty okay on my end.
