So it doesn't come with any starter minutes?
The prepaid phones come with an activation kit that includes 10 minutes.
When will those minutes expire if you activate but don't use them? Seemed like the moment you get the phone on the service, you start getting garbage text messages which eat up the 10 minutes. There must be a way to turn off text messaging, but I didn't bother. |

Never got my rebate from T-Mo on the 6030 deal. My advice is stay away from T-Mobile Rebates. And yeah, my T-Mobile prepaid gets hit with spam text messages. Luckily it's just a back up phone and I keep it off. |

What happened to TM rebates to make them go down hill? Back when I got my 6030, which was the deal for somewhere around $10 (or free?) at Staples back in late 2006 or early 2007, there was a giant hot deal thread here with people that had no problem with TM rebates. I got mine fine too. I also got my rebate for the big hot deal just before that, which was the 6010 phone for around $8 before from Target. BTW, I probably get about 1 spam message a month. |

I took my rebate fight all the way to small claims court. The judge found T-Mobile on the hook for all three of my rebates and ordered them to pay the rebates, plus the court filing fee cost. Just remember small claims is not that hard to do, I would do it again in a heartbeat if they tired to pull the same BS game again ! Dr D |

Can these phones be used with other services (like Cingular/ATT) if you swap sim chips? |

Don't you get the messages when you turn it on that were received while off? From my understanding, text messages stay in the system for several days. I only turn on the phone like once a month to check the battery. Even so, I got text messages twice once I turned on the phone.
