TMOBILE REBATE is a SCAM I have been denied 3 times and have gone in and talked to the stores and same thing. Called and put on hold for hours and hours and kept getting the run around.

WASTE OF TIME --------- DONT BUY T MOBILE
-YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR REBATE

Same here. I called the rebate center. The rep. agreed to do a research and gave me a new track ID. I will wait a few weeks to see what will happen.

I've been denied three times already. The reason stated on the letter is that I bought it from a discount store (Target/WalMart...). I call up and tell them I bought it on tmobile.com. They say "oh yes it's a mistake, let me give you your new tracking ID". A month passes and I get the identical letter again. I'm working on round 3 right now. Also, on the first denial letter they gave me about a month to respond before the claim would be closed. On the third letter, they gave me two days before they would consider the issue closed!

I like tmobile but I'll never do any sort of rebate deal with them.

Same story here: bought this phone and activated on the same day when it was received.
After the rebate was rejected with a lame reason "Invalid activation/purchase date for rebate offer,"
I called the rebate processing center and was given a new tracking number and I was told to wait another 8 weeks.

I gave up the rebate, but contacted BBB. A week later, a lady from T-Mobile's executive office called
and offered $30 credit to the account.

Where do you file your T-Mobile BBB complaint? I have several T-Mobile rebates rejected, some have been resubmitted 3 times by their rebate center CSR and still rejected a week later. I think BBB complaint or small claim court is the way to go. But it's hassle and would not try T-Mobile rebate again.

i'm on round three, got letter 2 weeks after lady said when i called after waiting 1+ month from round one, that their computer system is 'stuck' thousands (actual checks) will go out in 2 wks.

round three asks me to respond by Jan 14th.

yes, each time i have requested a rebate on a T-Mobile rebate in the past is always is rejected.
when i call about it they always have claimed that there is an error in the process and they manually have to approve it.
then usually someone miss processes it, and it gets rejected again.
then i have to call again, and get it reprocessed manually.

It is all too clear that they assume most people will not call back after it is rejected. Frankly I almost gave up on it myself.

Same thing happened to me (and my sister) where T-Mobile rejected our rebates twice with random excuses. Each time we had to call back and was told they made a mistake. Our rebates eventually came. Will try to avoid T-Mobile rebates in the future.

Good for you and for those who got their rebates finally.
This is my first time I apply for T-Mobile rebate. They denied my rebate 3 times already. So, I thought I might get a better result by filing a complaint with the BBB. That is what I did today.

There is no easy way to unlock this phone. It uses a new locking technique called "Asic 11" and there is no free solution to unlock right now. T-Mobile will usually give you the unlock code if you've been a customer for at least 90 days, from what I've read on other forums. And as others have said, T-Mobile cannot be counted on to get your rebate easily. If you go for this deal, document everything, including proof of mailing for the rebate form.

I purchased the phone and applied for the rebate and got denied. I filed a complaint with the BBB. The response from T-Mobile was that I failed to add prepaid minutes.

Can somebody tell me what or why is that?
Do I have to buy prepaid minutes to qualify for the rebate?
I don't see that on the rebate form. Please help!!
Thanks.

Currently, all T-Mobile Sidekick® phones and the T-Mobile To Go Nokia 2610P are unable to be unlocked.

Call (800)672-5390 tell them rebate issue.

You need the following:

Order number
Phone number
Denied tracking number

This worked for me and many other FW members.
