That's more or less the going rate on eBay, slightly more but recently 2 brand new ones went for $899 each. Amazing how much these have come down in price.
Just pulled the trigger on the 24" Ultrasharp
thanks OP
Refurb Monitor = Dead pixel city. Check you manufacturer's policy.
In for two 24" Ultrasharp
one for home and one for my office
Good deal, jumped on the Ultrasharp 24. Was craving that 27 to be a little different than my friends, but $700+ is too much to justify. Be sure to take advantage of the free standard shipping. Checked eBay, new they were going for $550 + $50 ship.
FYI have been looking for a good M-PVA 24-inch panel for a long time. The weak dollar has caused these nice panels to go up in price. You can get a 24-inch tn+film LCD for cheaper but the Ultrasharps are much better quality.
Anyone found the warranty information? 90days or 1 year.
The warranty on Dell Outlet monitors is 90 days. There is no extended warranty available. I thought about the Ultrasharp 24
$449 for a refurbed 2408wfp is not so hot. The new ones were $460 with a coupon 2 months ago month.

Does this mean its good? or does CNET lie?

I've never had any dead pixel problems with refurbs. But then again i've never had any dead pixel problems with new monitors so maybe i'm just a lucksack.
tyrone3971 said:Refurb Monitor = Dead pixel city. Check you manufacturer's policy. Are they really? I would think the first thing they'd do would be replace the panel, since that's most likely why they're refurbs in the first place.
I could be wrong. Anybody have any concrete information on what Dell does to their refurb panels? What's Dell's dead pixel policy? What warrantl do they offer on rerurb panels?
This deal is either hot or ice cold depending on those answers. For now, I think it's cold. No details means they are hiding something.
People freak out because the refurb POLICY allows for a certain number of blown pixels.
In reality I've gotten three refurb LCDs and I haven't gotten a blown pixel on any one of them.
I guess if you get unlucky and get one you have no recourse. But it doesn't mean you automatically are going to have some.
