"Directions: Mix half cup of potato bakon concentrate with one cup of urine."

275 servings from 23 lbs of mass and 100% vegetarian. Is this what they feed models?

I'm tempted in case the "big one" hits Cali but this stuff just sounds terrible.

Couldn't almost anything Costco sells in bulk be used for an emergency food kit?

Its the shelf life maaannn!! THE SHELF LIFE!!!

That is actually pretty good. 20 year shelf life in my storage room, just in case an emergency does arise. No need to wait for others (fema, etc) to help I can at least take care of me and my family for a couple of weeks. And lets be honest, if I'm without food I'm not gonna give a dang what it tastes like. Thanks OP.

"For best taste and nutritional value, use product before:
20 years of manufacturing date when stored at 60° F (16.6° C)
10 years of manufacturing date when stored at 70° F (21.1° C)"

Sounds yummy.

I have a more realistic survival kit in case anyone wants to buy one from me:
275 servings of Twinkies, Pringles, Jack & Coca-Cola, Beef Jerky, and a Fleshlight (that's no typo...I didn't mean flashlight).
Only $999, Shipping & Handling included, and I'll even throw in a 5 gallon plastic Menards bucket "for easy transport" porta-potty.

Fleshlight eh? Don't jerk off too much, that's precious protein your excreting when your starving and forced to eat fake bacon mixed with urine.

Lets see, Scout camping this weekend, 25 scouts, $75, I'm in!
Instructions on closeup. boil water, simmer 20 minutes, better hope the electricity and gas lines arent cut.

haha! i don't know if i really want to "survive" if i'm stuck eating this stuff.. potato bakon? i think i will just stock up on spam and other potted meats.. don't they last forever?

Uh..emergency food that requires not only water but you to boil it for 20 minutes? In pretty much every emergency scenario that is so bad you are cut off from conventional ways of getting food..you won't have easy access to electricity.

Why pitch a fire every time you want to eat?

Just buy MREs, bottled water, and you're good to go.

Here's the Mfr Product Page if you want to look up the ingredients.

That's similar to my plan, as I live right next door to a Walgreens.

**CAUTION***

***VEGETARIAN***

Not for those who crave meat. Otherwise, fine deal. Seems cheaper than MRE's.

they are selling the survivor cooking kit also....they mean business!

this is a good start, but if you want to really be safe, go to nitro-pak.com ....They have real survival food. No one wants to wait in a fema food line.

I bought this at the B&M for about $50 if I remember right last year, probably a lot of the cost is in the shipping as its heavy!

Anybody have deals for MREs?

Better hope you bring a bigger stick than the other 10,000 people.

this will be great for outlasting the inevitable zombie outbreak

Yup, these are $50 B&M if you're near a Costco.

Cheese and rice, there are TWO POSTS on not being able to boil water when the gas and/or electricity is out!

Fire

Use your imagination folks! You can heat rocks and drop that into water to boil it. Don't taste good, but also:

1. Find metal container suitable for edible things. (Gas cans are maybe bad to use.)
2. Place in or next to fire you've made. (See 'combustibles' and 'ignition sources'.)

Sheesh. No wonder they riot in cities, they evidently don't have a bic/match/high current electric source (car battery)/survival match/high friction heat generator and some wood/paper/charcoal/cardboard/petrochemicals...

Yeah and how convenient is that?

Starting a fire/wasting precious battery power. Many people may be in a bunker/basement/safe room, you think they really want to be starting a fire twice a day?

While you're out spending the 30 minutes to start your fire and cook your "emergency" food I would have eaten my MRE and be spending the rest of the 25 minutes laughing at you.

19.95 for 5 packets. What the heck.... so expensive.

That's why during the apocalypse I'm going cannibal.

Note that's 5 packs of 5 servings, so 25 servings. Of course I'd be surprised if most wouldn't consider them more like 2 or 3 servings, but still they are multiple serving packs..

They should give you an extra empty bucket with this kit. After all, what goes in must come out.

I'll bet Major Ed Dames owns stock in the food company.

MRE only last 7 years under good conditions, assuming it was stored correctly...THis will last 20+ years

You also can get it gift wrapped in aluminum wrap so that the recipients of this fine gift can make hats to cover their heads with during the usage of this food source. After plowing through the crap on their web site, it sure looks to me as if they are selling this to the paranoid crowd and what goes better with paranoids than tin hats?

Finally, someone besides the oil companies making a buck off the fears of catastrophes, nice to see that for a change.

That's a lot of Chowdah, Frenchie.

Skipping 56 Messages...

This would not work in Galveston,TX, there is no water there !!!

For this to be of any value in an emergency it needs 100% of what you need to survive "INSIDE" this bucket, no extra ingredients needed

What no chain and padlock, were do you think a 23lb bucket will get tossed to in a Hurricane, this puppy could end up a few miles from your house after a 'Cane
