It only costs a wii bit, so why not just pull the trigger before it sells out?

USB 1.1 almost has to be old stock - modern adapters/chipsets all use USB2.0, which is the only way to get better than 10Mbit/sec Ethernet (the slowest twisted-pair speed, also known as 10baseT) out of one of these adapters. Most routers do 10/100 (if not 10/100/1000) these days, but it will almost certainly be a bottleneck for the device.

PRECISELY - more than fast enough, cheaper than a wireless ethernet adapter (assuming it is possible to run Cat5 wire).

Anybody know if this will work with a zippered TiVo? <EDIT> That would be a zippered Directv TiVo.

I wouldn't risk it with the TiVo. I tried buying some no-name adapter like this and it didn't work with my TiVo.

See this page for TiVo compatibility: http://www.tivo.com/setupandsupport/technicalsupport/networkingandphoneconnections/All_Wired_Network_Adapters.html

I have been succesfully using a TrendNet adapter for more than 8 months, and it is not on the list - was like $5 at Frys B&M. If you are concerned, compare the chipset (Realtek RTL8150L) with those on the list that do and don't work.

I didn't think people still made usb 1.1 peripherals outside of keyboards and mice.

For those asking about the Wii, this one is $13.99 shipped, USB 2.0, and is advertised as working with the Wii.
