Arggggghh! I got the flyer sometime ago and didn't realize I have to upgrade... no wonder I haven't gotten extra points. Thanks for bringing this up. BTW, did anyone else get a really preppy rep that tells you you've been a great customer and deserve this? Felt a bit weird. |

AMEX starwood FTW get a nice intial point amount 10k...then a bonus after 15k spending in the first 6 months...of 15k points....

So if you spend 15k in the first six months...thats a total of 40k points which equals 50k miles after the transfer...
which nets you more than enough miles for a ticket to Hawaii...or a Business class ticket to Europe by transfering to Cathay pacific and flying via British airways.... Sorry to get off topic.. I have an Amazon Chase too and it is a great card...and I use it for all my Amazon purchases.... |

In stead of upgrading an old CC, can we apply a second one? The second one shall inroll you in the new program plus $30 bonus. This seems better than upgrading old one. |

I posted this deal a couple of months ago. The double points are on office supply purchases as well per this wording on my statement: Your card allows you to earn points faster than ever! Earn 3 points for every
eligible dollar spent at Amazon. Earn 2 points for every eligible dollar spent on gas,
dining, Drugstore, and office supply purchases. And earn 1 point for all other
purchases! Choose rewards for as few as 2,500 points! For complete program
details, please refer to your Rewards Rules and Regulations. Also, apparently they ARE paying double points for educational expenses as someone had posted a few months ago in another thread as this was also on my statement: Bonus points earned on school payments Most of my purchases were "everyday" or educational, so I ended up with over 10,000 points for $3500 in purchases. Oh, and I also got an offer for bonus points by mail/email around the same time as I upgraded the card (separate from the upgrade however) and those are for 3 months and should be paid shortly thereafter, so my "everyday" categories may be paying even more. |

I have an Amazon Chase too and it is a great card...and I use it for all my Amazon purchases....thanks for the info. my wife and i open about 4 new cc accts per year to rack up miles. we have about 400k points spread across 4 carriers. it doesn't seem to affect our credit score. she's over 800 and i'm right below 800. racking up free ff miles is another hobby of mine since we like to travel.......and shop! |

Just called, didn't receive flyer, and was instantly upgraded. Quick and easy 2 minute process. Sounded peciliar at first since this "upgrade" consisted of receiving a new physical credit card but the same numbers. No yearly fees or anything. Just a change in the points system where you can redeem for either Amazon GC (same rate: $25 Amazon GC per 2500 pts) or whatever else they'll offer. Hope the new credit card looks fancy or classy to flash to the ladies. |

That is interesting that some of you have fliers that tell you to call in to switch programs. I received a flier, but it just tells me that it will kick in on October 1st, and that a new card will be coming in the mail. Could it have originally been a pilot program and is now being automatically rolled out to all Amazon cardholders? |

Thank you so much for bringing it up. I have this Amazon credit card for 5 years and I make over 5k Amazon purchase annually but never use it before, cause I have no idea about their reward. From now on, I can enjoy 3-month of 6% and 3% after that and stop being a sucker! |

hmm i've had this from their Amazon signature visa for a couple of months now. the point limit will be a problem since i've done almost 7000 a month. hrmm. |
