Just to make sure. Everyone will get this offer automatically and it's eligible for purchases you do between Oct-1 to Dec-31.

I was told that it would be a new card, but the same number.

Did you look at the number on your new card?

Why yes, I did, Mr.Collegeman

(Shirley, you jest! and don't call me Shirley)
And was it the same number as on the old one? They did not change numbers on me when I got my new one a few months ago. I don't see the big deal is either way. You have to activate new cards when your old ones on the account expire. This is no different.

How can you have a Amazon credit card for 5 years and not know about its rewards program???
I guess he got it for the $30 bonus but hasn't used it since.

BTW one big difference between the old card and this card is that the old card used to send you a $25 Amazon GC when you got to 2500 points. With the new one you have to request the reward, which can be an Amazon GC or other stuff (personally, I just took the cash, why waste your 3/6% Amazon rebate by using a gift certificate?

Not saying they did, or did not... I don't know yet, but the new card is a different number (which I refuse to activate, just on principle).

Also, just got my rate reduced from 28.99% variable to 27.99% fixed. Thank god I pay this card off every month. 730 FICO score, $65k annual salary and this is the best they can do for me, WTF.

If you pay the card off every month why do you care what the rate is?

Just the principle of it. It will never effect me since I do pay it off.

2nd Attempt and I was upgraded! Yay. The CSR told me that I normally would not qualify but they are doing this as a thank you to loyal customers (I assume that means everyone? not sure..). If you failed yesterday like I did I would suggest calling until you succeed. I was told the same as everyone else - my card number would not change - and that the 6-4-2 point system would go in effect in 3 business days. Took about 2 minutes to upgrade.

I got in on it, and the CSR told me I could either use my old card, or get a new "blank" card, whcih didn't give recepts or something like that, but it would be the same card number.

She also said nothing about the Oct.-Dec. thing, she only said it would take 3-4 business days to take affect. I had her send me the "blank" card just so I could see what in the Hell she was talking about. I may just shred it and use my old card, but the curiosity was killing me.

Thanks OP! Greened.

Thanks OP! - Perfect for the holidays coming up to get 6 points back. Now remember fat-walleters... to take full advantage of this deal, if you get your reward in Amazon gift certificates, do not apply them to your Amazon account until AFTER the 90 day double points period has expired - otherwise, they will deduct from your gift certificate balance instead of using your Amazon card to get the double points.

I had no problem upgrading, they asked if I got the letter in the mail, and I told them my wife got some letter from Amazon, but she lost it

didn't work for me... the lady told me the flyer / program only to certain group of ppl & nothing she can do to change my points.... i'll try again...

But the fact is that the best way to use these points is to get a check sent to you. Given that the value is the same (2500 points for a $25 Amazon GC, 5000 points for a $50 check), there is really little reason to take a gift certificate unless you want to cash out early. Even after the double points expires you'd still lose the 3% rebate at Amazon.

I actually think the CSR might have said "Blink". It is supposed to be Chase's version of a RFID chip in the card for quick paying. I also have this new card coming -- so I guess we'll see.

In case anyone was wondering, I just confirmed with them that the annual cap on points is 60,000 per anniversary year. So in a normal anniversary year without the double promo that would be $20k in Amazon.com purchases. Not a good deal if you spend more than that and have the older Amazon.com card and point system.

hmm my Amazon business doesn't have blink and my Amazon signature doesn't either

you know the Amazon business if you apply they put "BUSINESS NAME" in as the business name; lol. they didn't even ask the business name. maybe they've fixed it.

both cards already received 2.9% ($99 fee) for life offers which is not bad these days. $24K/20K i would apply for another one but since chase has taken over quickencard i'd have like 7 cards.

don't be suprised to see a good BT RATE but from what i've seen lately it seems the rates are going up and the deals are drying up.

the biz card of course doesn't show on your personal credit report.

I did not get a flyer but when I called Amazon, they said they have mailed it to me and I am already qualified.

They did the updagrade within 2 min. It will take 3 business days to get this in effect. After 90 days, I will automatically be moved back to the original plan.
