Earning Rewards:

Three Amazon.com Points: You will earn 3 Amazon.com Points for each $1 of eligible Net Purchases made at Amazon.com, except for purchases that include items from Borders and Waldenbooks teamed with Amazon.com or purchases where "Amazon.com" does not appear on your monthly statement including merchants who process their own payments such as Eddie Bauer and Newport News.

Two Amazon.com Points: You will earn 2 Amazon.com Points for each $1 of eligible Net Purchases made at retail establishments that classify their merchant location for Visa as a gas station, Drugstore, office supply store, or type of dining establishment. Purchases not eligible to receive the 2 Amazon.com Points include, but are not limited to, purchases made at superstores, warehouse clubs, and discount stores. We do not determine whether merchants correctly identify and bill transactions as being made at a gas station, Drugstore, office supply store, or type of dining establishment. However, we do reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for the 2 Amazon.com Points.

One Amazon.com Point: You will earn 1 Amazon.com Point for each $1 of all other eligible net purchases.

All Amazon.com Points will be doubled for the first 90 days from your enrollment date in the program. You do not earn Amazon.com Points on balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like charges such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that are used to access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including fees for products that protect or insure the balances of your account.

Maximum Amazon.com Point accumulation on Net Purchases for all Amazon.com point earning levels is 60,000 Annually. ("Annually" means the year beginning with your enrollment date through the first statement after the anniversary of your enrollment date, and each twelve months thereafter.) It took me 4-5 calls before I got the "upgrade" or more precisely a "product trade." The problem was that the people on the other line were not aware of this promotion and they kept telling me to call the "Rewards" department (888-827-9369).

Every time I called I was asked for a promotion code but there is no promotion code. The lady on the phone, who I talked to, had to search for this promotion and then do a "product trade" once she found it. It took her two tries to find it. (If they can't find it it does not mean that you don't qualify, they just need to change their search criteria.)

During my last phone call I just said that it would be silly for me to have to apply for a 2nd card to get this promotion and shortly after that the lady found this offer and traded my old one for the new one.

All I can add is be patient and keep on trying.
