I was about to post it here as well when I saw it already posted a bit after I did at SD.
Don't "red" someone who found and confirmed the deal! So posting at SD is your priority and you want props here? |

Maybe if Navigon's mid-range unit is on clearance for $159 now is not the time to buy a 3 year service contract from them? |

My question is, if you have a 5100 and I have a 2100 and I copy your SD card, would I then have a 5100? the problem with that is the hardware of 5100 is different from 2100. Let say you copy my sd card, you will have the software but some of the function will not be access due to differences in hardwares. But then all of this is just speculation, I will tell you if it works or not once I get my first map update. |

As far as the 5100 is concerned, if you own both a 2100 and 5100, then you can copy the map and poi files from the 5100 card to a 2100 card and you will have some of features of the 5100 on the 2100 (except for the Zagat and Traffic, which can only be activated on the 2100 through their online activation service). |

Have there been any map updates since the 1.2 software update? Does the 3 year period begin the day you activate the card, or your first map download? Would it be better to activate the card on the next map release? |

I know Europe had been released in July. As for USA update it's not to be found "anywhere" so I don't think so. SilverB18C1 said:Have there been any map updates since the 1.2 software update?

"Activate online within 60 days of purchase and receive three years of map updates" I purchased the update (thanks OP) and will diary on my calendar to wait until early November to activate. |

They don't ask for a copy of your receipt when you activate so they have no idea when "60 days from purchase" is (unless you tell them).
