Precise Heat Element Low Pressure, Pressure Cooker

Sale Price: $45.95

Thanks, this reminded me I wanted to get my mom a new set of pots/pans for Christmas.

One interesting note though, I chose a KitchenAid set that said it was $129.99 via your link. When I went through the check-out, it applied a $20 "promotional credit" all by itself that I wasn't expecting. Came to $109.99. YMMV, I'm not sure why it happened since I didn't see anything about promotions besides the $5 Bill Me Later that I didn't use.

I've tried a number of combinations of things, and from what I can tell, KitchenAid pot/pan sets are being discounted an extra $20. Doesn't seem to apply to other KitchenAid items like knives, nor does it seem to apply to non-KitchenAid pots/pans.

They also have the 3 piece Wusthof classic prep set on sale, for those who like a more traditional look to their knives. I dropped a boatload on a fill Wustof set 5 years ago and let me tell you, they are amazing.

This seems hot. Hrmmmm.. Are you guys going with the stainless steel or nonstick?

Stainless is best IMO.
A lot of what you cook doesn't need the non-stick properties anyway. Non-stick shouln't be used at very high heat. All non-stick coatings wear eventually, and who wants flakes in their food? Plus stainless is better for browning and pan sauces. The only think you need a non-stick for is an egg pan, and you can get a decent one for < $15 at WalMart. I switched from a $300+ set of Calphalon to the $129 Cuisinart stainless a year ago and wish I'd done it sooner.

Presto 03510 Flipside Wafflemaker $35 (Best price I could find online)

My 15-year-old said she wanted a waffle-maker for Christmas. Lucky me!

FlipSide Electric Waffle Maker has professional style rotating design which bakes Belgian waffles in minutes. Extra thick grid makes 7 inch diameter waffles and divides them into four easy-to-cut sections. The professional-style rotating design bakes extra-thick Belgian waffles in minutes. The unique 180° flip design evenly spreads the batter for waffles with a crispy outside and fluffy, tender inside. And make sure your waffles come out unburned with the countdown timer and digital display, which tells you when baking time is up. Its dual function base, which locks in a vertical position, makes it easy to store.

(Sorry no linky. I should know how by now, but tried six times and can't get it. Irritating for you and me!!)

I prefer hard anodized aluminum, which has non-stick properties, but doesn't chip or flake because it isn't a coating like Teflon.

Hard anodized info

I have Analon Titanium cookware myself, unique because they are dishwasher safe which isn't true of most hard anodized. I really like them and I believe a set is on sale, but I don't think the Titanium is a current "model" so it may be tough to find filler pieces. There are Calphalon and KitchenAid hard anodized on sale as well, I bought the KitchenAid for my mom based on some complaints about the Calphalon quality control (they sell Chinese made stuff on Amazon unlike the US made stuff you find in department stores). The Calphalon also apparently come in plain white boxes which wouldn't be that great for presents.

This deal does not exist anymore!!!

I mean, the "Precise Heat Element Low Pressure, Pressure Cooker" deal...

Yea, I noticed that it was gone as well...but why exactly would you use a pressure cooker?

meat and potatoes! beef can take ages to soften without a pressure cooker

Some KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixers are $229.99, is that a good price?

Why are these specials still listed if they ended Sept. 2008? Very confusing!!
