Thought I would check tonight, and the Discover website has the start date for the next promotion as November 1st! Turn receipts into rewards! The malls are not listed yet, but wanted to give fellow FW'rs a heads-up!
They stamped mine at the customer service desk and gave them back along with a Discover Gift Card. Wasn't that bad and the gift card can be given to anyone (no name printed on it like those AMEX Spring Fling cards).
Macy's/Nordstrom encodes the return label on the sticker tag. how do they take their gift card back?

unless u really need it it is not at all a HD to many. there is a hidden fees associated with it Available in amounts of $25, $50 or $100, with a $4.95 purchase fee* so for $200 u need two $100 card and u loose $10 purchase fees. so u just get $10 bonus. not worth (IMO).

makes no sense to me
He must be thinking that one has to buy $200 worth of gift cards to get a $20 GC.

So here is the maths..200 purchase you made...you getting 2 gift cards each has 20$ ($40 = 4.95 (purchase fee) X 2 = 9.9..Still you are getting 30$) So which is better? If my calculation is wrong please correct me. Thanks.

SLOW DOWN!!!
You spend $200 at the mall. Anywhere at a participating mall. The food court, Nordstrom, Dillards, LoveSac, GameStop, etc...
For every $200 you spend you show your receipts to the CS desk and get a $20 gift card. ($1000 limit last year)
You MAY buy Discover Gift Cards. They did Qualify last year. But it is by no means your only option.

This MORON clearly does not have a firm grasp of the English language. No where in the original post, does it say anything about having to buy gift cards. You can buy anything and turn the receipts into rewards. It amounts to 10% off of your purchases.

Be nice. Since it's not active yet the link isn't 100% clear at first glance. I have a what I hope is a firm grasp on the English language and I had to read some fine print to be sure it was going to be the same deal as years past.

You know I would normally disagree with this statement. I like to give others a chance, HOWEVER in this case its true. Mr Sibunair is quite the work. He is a red flag stalker and he proved to be quite the piece in This Thread.
Just my 2 cents worth....Red flag away if you must
Get a $20 Discover® Gift Card when you make $200 in purchases with your Discover Card at a participating mall between 11/1/08-1/4/09, while supplies last. Original receipts must be presented to a participating mall's Customer Service by 1/4/09. See Gift Card terms and conditions for full details.

I clearly mentioned in my post "If I am wrong, please correct me"..right? I never said I am right and I know everything. I learn things from senior members here. It is high time, the members of Fatwallet should say this to you - Your "I KNOW EVERYTHING" attitude is nauseating. Please don't give me another chance to talk about you more here. Its a kind request.....Amen.

The link is confusion but you're reading too much into this. The $4.95 fee is only if you purchase gift cards at the service desk in a mall.. This is ALWAYS the case.
There is no fee for redeeming this promotion at these malls. The reason the list for this promotion is the same as the malls you can purchase gift cards at is because they pay the service desks to sell/redeem gift cards.
May be off the topic, but can anyone tell which credit card should I apply for better rewards. Currently I have a bank of america credit card even after a lot of monthly expenditure they charge me annual fee and no Cash Back or rebates. Thanks in advance.

Cool, I hope one of the malls near my area is participating. During the September promo, I ended up getting $80 worth of GC. It was prefect timing for my shopping.
After. All they look at is your receipts to make sure they are from stores in the mall. Most of the malls stamp so you can't use them again. However, receipts can be used for returning merchandise to the store.
I absolutely abused this last year. Maxed out by putting $1000 each on 4 different discover cards at 4 different malls and then returned all the stuff. Discover paid for all my christmass gifts last year!
I dont know if I want to do it again this year, it was a big time commitment and quite a pain in the ass to return everything. It is surprisingly hard to find portable, easily returnable items at some malls.
Does anyone remember any other CA malls this worked with last year?
I recall it worked at Meadowood Mall in No NV.

And here I thought another mall promotion was being run by Discover...
Your gift cards are fine... They're nothing more than rebranded credit card issuer gift cards anyway.
