If the pod is unopened and within the return period, I have had no problem returning ipods to an an Apple Store.

You have Water Tower Place listed as a mall that is doing the promotion. But, from the link it is not listed.

Has anyone tried to get 5 cards at more than one mall? I have received 5 gift cards at my local mall in SLC, UT. But, I will be traveling soon near another participating mall and I'd love to do it there as well?

Last year I was able to get sets of 5 gift cards at multiple locations. I'm not sure if it will work the same this year since they have the "new laptops" that may or may not be tracking them more closely.

Last year, Rosie the gift card Nazi at Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge, VA actually told me I could only get 5 cards max--no matter how many accounts I had. I showed her the "per account" language and she still refused. I finally called up the Discover Gift Card help desk and made her speak with them. She (reluctantly) let me use my second discover card after that.

Now I have 4 discover cards and I plan to do the same thing. Today, I got my first set of 5 cards and she said "Remember, this is all you get now!". I didn't feel like arguing so we'll see what happens when I try next week with my other card.

Many malls sell a "mall gift card" that is actually a Discover Gift Card (you can spend it anywhere) in disguise. They come up to $500 and have a $2 fee per card.

2x$500 discover mall gift card costs you $1004.

You make $10 CashBack bonus and get $100 in Discover Gift Cards so each time you do it you net $106.

Combine those gift cards with the US Mint $1 coin purchases to get the $500 back to stick in your bank account.

Interesting have you done this. Are you sure the USMint accepts Discover Gift Cards. I want to be sure before I do this.

No, I haven't. But if the $500 you buy from the mall is nothing more than a Discover Gift Card. Then it can be used as a credit card anywhere else.

The only sticking point might be if the US Mint web site does a $1 "test transaction" prior to charging the full $500. If that is the case, the card would be declined due to "insufficient funds".

I am going to try this, but purchase 250 at a time.

I eagerly await your test

I felt kinda bad buying $2000 of watches the other day knowing that I was going to return them.

One way to get money out of these Discover GC is to charge $40 gas and if it fills up at $10, the attendant will give you cash for the difference.

alert mods

Or you can go to WalMart and take Cash Back ( $60 max each time ).
