Thanks! Minor price drop made me go ahead and buy it. ~$150 after tax (CA) is pretty nice, enough to hope I can live with the color reproduction issues. by the way, this thread a repost of this:

It should stack. I bought this LCD when it was with the $35 instant off and it worked. I just price matched and will be getting a credit on the difference.
total Cost $146.89 if you factor in the e-junkie coupon,
Green!
I had returned a 24 incher V7 TN a few months ago that I did not think was worth $300 and was a little too big for my needs. For less than half the price this 22 inch should meet my needs...

I ordered this two days ago for $179.99 before my own coupon. Now it is 172.90. Can I ask for Staples for the difference?

First time it showed OOS (even though I added to the card already). The second attempt was a success, and I got the order confirmation. I hopeI was just in time, and they will not cancel.
Thanks, OP!

Not a thread crap, but just a FYI for those that might be interested. The specs PDF for this monitor lists the amount of colors like this,"Color: More than 16M" G2219w1 Specs
This probably won't matter for most of the people that are interested in getting an inexpensive 22" LCD, however, what this means is that it is not an 8-bit LCD screen, but rather a 6-bit LCD screen, and it does not do 16.7 million colors that an 8-bit screen would be able to do. This is the reason that you may read reviews where accurate color reproduction leaves something to be desired. So if you are into more advanced photo editing, or are going to watch a lot of movies on a 22" LCD and want better color reproduction of the movie's color ... then this monitor probably isn't for you!
Otherwise, for the price it's hard to beat for most people that surf the web, use office apps, or play games!
no bad got this on friday when it was 180.00 after Staples instant coupon...I was successful to pricematch it to the new lower price.
231.99 <-- retail (52.00) <-- instant coupon from staple (30.00) <-- coupon bought from e-junkie for $3.99 --------- 149.99 <-- sub-total +12.37 <-- tax (.0825%) --------- 162.36 +3.99 <-- cost of coupon --------- 166.35 (7.68) <-- PM to new price --------- 158.67 <-- New grand total

Very good price, but if it is this cheap now, just imagine how much less it will be on Black Friday. I need a new monitor but have been waiting for a few months already to buy one. I'm hoping to hold out until Black Friday because retail stores have been doing very poor business this year, so I'm sure their deals will be great.
That's odd. The table on page 11 of the G2219w1 Owner's Manual states "LCD Display Color: 16.7M". Also, wouldn't 6 bits yield a lot LESS than 16M colors?

Kind of. It is true that technically, 6-bit yields only 262,000 colors. However, manufacturers now use dithering to get make it seem like the 16 million an 8-bit displays. The tradeoff is that 6-bit LCDs tend to be faster in pixel response time, so they fool the eye into "missing" the artifacts.
BTW, I have had this monitor for several months and absolutely LOVE it.

I assume for this price it does NOT come with DVI cable right?
justwantmymoney said: I assume for this price it does NOT come with DVI cable right? My 19" Envision LCD that I bought at Staplesdid include both VGA and DVI cables, plus a cable to hook your computer up to the built-in speakers and a standard power cord.

KCWell then, maybe I am incorrect about the colors from what I have read in the SPEC sheet available from their site, but strange that they show "Colors: More than 16M" (usually wording used for monitors with less than 16.7M colors without 8-pit panels) in that one online SPEC PDF file while they list "16.7M" in the manual. Maybe it has 16.7M and is 8-bit, but I would still wonder why reviews warn about accurate color reproduction, a trait more commonly associated to the lesser 6-bit panels which must use color dithering to achieve the 16M+ color mark.
Still, it won't matter for most users anyway, just those that are extremely critical on color accuracy.
shortstick said: awesome deal, wish it had a thinner bottom bezel for a multi-monitor setup It's fine for side-by-side multi-monitor action. If you want a top-bottom configuration, just rotate the top monitor 180 degrees and tell your video card to do a corresponding flip in the image displayed.

I know it says analog but does it have a Coaxial cable (you know the regular looking "cable" cable to plug/screw into my cable box/dvr/tuner?
p0tempkin said: tytwad said: I know it says analog but does it have a Coaxial cable to plug into my cable box/dvr/tuner? No coax cable input. "Analog" in this case means VGA connector (ie. older normal computer video connection). Digital would mean DVI (ie. newer computer video connection). Coax would be used for a TV tuner, think of this as a dumb monitor that can only handle what it's given, and can't change channels or tune anything in. It'd be useful for TV or if you can hook up some kind of TV tuner that spits out VGA/DVI. Otherwise, you'll want to keep looking for an LCD TV, not an LCD monitor.

p0tempkin said: dentee said: For some reason every time I restart my computer my monitor settings are reset and everything is blurry; I get a monitor resolution notice (a little window with a blue background, it looks like the monitor is sending this message because it is a similar style to the window you see when adjusting the monitor panel settings) saying that the resolution is best viewed at 1680x1050. So I go into the display settings to change it, and it is already showing that the resolution is set to 1680x1050! I have to change it to a random resolution and then change it back to 1680x1050 to correct it. Anyone know what this problem could be? Are you using VGA or DVI? I had the same problem using VGA, but pressing the auto-set button (the button right next to the power button) corrected the issue.
But I no longer have to do this over DVI; it's always set perfectly. I think that's just an inherent difference between VGA and DVI.
I am having a similar problem, but I can't get it to go to 1680x1050 at all with DVI. If I use the VGA it works fine right away!. I have download the newest driver for my video card nvida gforce fx 5200, but still nothing will make it go to the native resolution using DVI! It says it is on 1680x1050, but it is not. I try to change it to another resolution and then back still no luck.
