The rebate form I have linked is the correct form for $25

cool, just makin sure cuz the site showed $20. regardless thanks for the heads up

What's going on?? Quality-brand RAM prices @ Fry's have been dropping like home prices over the last few weeks.

Super deal!

Can you use that PC2 8500 for the normal PC2 5300? Thanks

I dont know much about computers so bear with me...I got in on that vostro lappy deal last week. The 4GB (2x2GB) SODIMM will do the trick correct?

the rebate form seems to be the same for all the above kingston ram units. so if I want to buy 2 different RAM from that list, do I have to mail the submissions separately or in one envelope itself?

Sieng said: Can you use that PC2 8500 for the normal PC2 5300? Thanks Same question.

Yes

Yes, according to the rebate form, you can use one form and submission for all.

Great Deal OP, In for all three flavors of 2x2's.

According to rebate and model # on Fry.com, the 4GB PC8500 Desktop memory is model KHX8500AD2K2, which is not 5-5-5-15, but 7-7-7-20:
KHX8500AD2K2
Full Listing

what about this clause in the rebate form: Sales order confirmation emails and/or packing slips are not accepted for proof of purchase.

what else do we have to send for frys.com orders? sorry i have never submitted MIR for kingston before.

thanks OP - better RAM and better deal than mine.

I have just called Frys. The item #5456029 is not a (2x1Gb) but a single stick of 2Gb.

not sure if this is too hot, Fry's has had single 2GB sodimms for under $15 lately after rebate

anybody having trouble ordering the 2x2gb SO-DIMM? It gives me an error when I tried to check out and bounce me to their main page.

Here is a little OOPS, I think...

I jumped on this very early this morning and purchased the 4GB/2X2GB) DDR2 PC6400/800MHz/ KINGSTON / KVR800D2K2/4GR although the detailed specs were not posted there. So, I went to several other sites to include Newegg who sold this exact product. (The information was not available at Kingston website using the number posted online) The one spec I was concerned with was the CAS which according to all of those web sites was 5. Well, I decided to call Kingston and confim this but unfortunately I was told it is definitely CAS 6 not 5. So, I called Fry's CS and they found the specs which confirmed what Kingston told me. So, the CS made a note on my order that the specs were not posted at the time I ordered the product so I could return it with no strings attached.

I hope this helps someone...

Great deal! Picked up 2X 2Gb of ram.

Anyone knows if my DV6409wm (HP Pavilion Notebook) will run with 4GB of RAM?
I know it will only be able to use 3.5 or 3GB of RAM, but according to HP it can only take upto 4GB which I think is odd as other DV6000 and DV6400 models come with upto 4GB !

Does anyone know if I can install 4GB ?

What is wrong with you guys? Before the post showed (2x1GB) and I mentioned the mistake. Why the red?

dealmedealme said: What is wrong with you guys? Before the post showed (2x1GB) and I mentioned the mistake. Why the red?

I have not changed any of the 1 x 2 or 2 x 1...honest

Edit to add....look at the time I last edited the post ---Message edited by: billybabe3883 on 2008-09-24 01:08:06 CDT<---thats AM, otherwise it would say 13:08 if it were PM

And you posted that there was a mistake---Sep/24/2008 9:02 AM.

I am not trying to be combative here...I just am simply saying I have not edited the 1x2 etc...

See the title RAM Frys.com: 4GB (2x2GB) SODIMM $35 AR, 2GB (1x2GB) SODIMM $20AR, 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 DIMM $30 AR, 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-8500

Also changed, never mind

I took the chance and ordered 4GB on 24th 2pm, was here on 26th at 12 pm, installed and running smoothly, even though HP said machine only supported 2GB max.
I am showing 2.6 usable for windows and I think 394 in shared video, on 32 bit Vista. Not bad !

my laptop is DV6409WM that I got at WalMart for about 400 past BF !!

ordered friday night, came today, rebate sent

thanks again op
