I take my hat off to Cooler Master cases now. I no longer look toward Antec for great designs. CM Sniper case? is tour- de-force in great ideas and execution. Perfect? No ..

Pretty decent reviews on Newegg. I am shopping for a case right now, was looking at the lian li armor, havent decided yet

would it be stupid for me to buy a fanless psu and cpu if im not overclocking, and would this case be the best for it? I wish i had the balls to get a liquid cooler...

or a 120mm cpu heatsink + fanless psu...i cannot stand a loud computer!

I have never, ever like Lian Li's. The workmanship may be great .. I truly think they are clueless .. their latest stuff looks better. CrazyPC.com has some discontinued models cheap(er)?

If you only plan to use a computer for basic office work and browsing the internet it would not be a wise act to dish out 100+ dollars on this case.
If you are serious about power in your computer for gaming or 3D rendering and other intense work then I would recommend getting good cooling accessories to go with this case.
Or go look at liquid cooling for a quieter solution, though the motor might make some noise.

roger that thanks, i currently have a shuttle minipc. I like it but i cannot overclock and its already running above temperatures that are ideal (it runs at load tempertures though i do no game much. this is due to the lack of fan on the cpu itself i believe and the stuffed up position and close proximity of the smaller PSU. It is very quiet and can fit my ATI 4850, but i rather get a computer that i can have some upgrade ability, and will not burn out my cpu soon.)

I have the case and I got it during the PayPal rebate deal with Newegg around xmas when there was also a manufacturers rebate as well. My recollection was that my total cost at the time was around $60-70. This is a decent case and I use it as a server case. That said while it is really nice, the hard drives do run quite a bit warmer than my main server case which is an older Cooler Master Stacker (and yes I did move the bottom fan to be over the hard drive cage which is mandatory in my opinion with the Cosmos). Also this is one really heavy case. All that said this is a nice case but I prefer the older Stacker for server duties.

if anyone is a cpu temperature genius, the reason i wanted this case is these are my speedfan readings on my minipc
Temp1 44C
temp2 57C
HD0 52C
HD1 50C
Temp1 40C
Core0 65C
Core1 64C

Are these ok, or is my cpu going to die soon? The case is definately hot, and my computer other than surfing the web is idle.

Core (what cpu do you have ?) is abit high for being at an "idle" ? (good/better would be 40-45c), and your harddrive temps should be closer to 30-32-35c . But keeping in mind you have a minipc , temps will always be higher ; personally I'd like to see atleast 10c off any of those temps to be more comfortable about them .

It's warm, too warm to be normal. The reason is your Shuttle. I can tell because your HDs are much warmer than normal. The significant contributor is your 4850, aka toaster in a sealed box. Since you don't game, why buy such a model when it's known to get really, really hot? Change out the card or get a vent outside video card (if it allows), then you would be in better shape.

This is a huge case and not one of CM's best efforts. You can do better with the Stacker. The CM690 is even better because it is simpler and cheaper. Gone are the days of $30 AR for it though.

BTW, if you want quiet, the Antec P18X series is a better fit. It seems like they are always on sale.

will it fit a 120mm cpu cooler? or is that more of a motherboard thing?

This case is awesome! My buddy has this case and it's one of the sturdiest cases I have had experience with. It's also a bit of a downside, though. It's a pain in the ass to carry to LANs.
