Didn't find anything about this with search so here it is...
Must be a student to be able to purchase at the colleges. Has been verified at UCSD and SDSU. Not sure who else has this offer. Buddy picked up my MacBook at SDSU for $999.00 and said he didn't have an ID. I'm not even a student! They say it's one notebook per 12-month period, but they aren't too strict on how they record who buys what. Find someone that goes to these schools, and have them buy it if you're in the market for one!!! Limited Quantities, and sounds like they're going pretty fast...Good luck!

There is news that Mac systems (atleast portables) will be refreshed some time next month (rumored date; Oct 14). So if u want to buy the latest, probably u should be waiting. This is a great deal if u dont care for the new forth coming ones.
There is a refresh in a month, you probably should wait. I got screwed buying a macbook a week before they switched to Intels...

Apparently the Macbook Pro's are on the verge of a major refresh to take on some of the stylings of the MacBook Air and potentially a glass touchpad (at least that was one of the rumors I read a month ago.)
