I'm casually shopping for a laptop and it would be helpful if those giving this red would let us know why this isn't a good deal. Is it because the Vostro isn't good? Is it because there have been cheaper prices for same config? Thanks.
The $449 configuration on that same page would be a better deal (dual-core processor instead of single-core, and 2 1GB sticks of RAM instead of 2 512MB sticks that you would probably have to replace to get satisfiable performance in the included Vista). Also, this is an older model Vostro that has been at this price point for a while now; there are Acer and Compaq laptops at this price almost every week at Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, etc.
