I just ordered 6 of these. They will make a good xmas present. I have been using it for 3 weeks. USB port is alos for playing music. But its better to have music on SD or HDSD card. It takes less room. It works great. The remote is fine as long as you are near the player. NIce n compact |

If any of you can suggest the frequency to use in Brooklyn... Whatever I've tried so far, I get plenty of noise and then the sound would just go away. Probably, to be expected in this town, still interested if anybody's gotten it work successfully. |

Mine worked with the first USB drive I used for about 4 days. Then, it stopped detecting it (said "No Device" on the small screen. ) I tried a new USB. Worked fine until I turned the car off. Upon restart, same message ("No Device"). After trying to use my USBs on the computer, I discovered that both were fried. Computer doesn't see them at all. So, $9 for a cheap transmitter + 4 GB of now-useless flash drives. Not a great deal. |

I have been using it with a USB for the last couple of weeks and am very happy with the purchase. For $10 can't beat this. Only (small) complaint is the inability to pick album, artist etc... |

not worth 10$.. sound and build quality is very poor.. the fuse blew up in 3 days but was easy to fix. I would rather save this 10$ and invest in a real cd/mp3/audio player. you will forget that your ordered this well before it arrives... If you are a true FWer this is not a good deal. |

I have ordered two at different times. What I received the first time works great! The second one I got looks the same however it is a slightly different menu and it doesn't work. It is very staticky. I think it is broken. I think it is luck of the draw what batch you get. The quality control is not very good with this product. |

Mine arrived two days ago..and the clarity is great...equal to CD player... I used SD card instead of USB/Iphone. When I connect Iphone, clarity is worst. Remote was not working...i think battery is dead...... Worth for 10$$$$. I already have Kensington's FM transmitter for iphone...and its not good. |

I am still waiting for mine to come but I do know what frequency i am going to try it on though . Peace! |

Try adjusting the iphone's output volume to see where the clarity is best. Usually if you keep the MP3 transmitter's volume at 10 or less its clarity is best when it plays from a memory card, and I believe this would be true with other audio sources as well so then adjust the iphone source volume to be the best compromise of clarity and necessary volume. Your Remote Control problem may be one of two things. First they have a plastic film over the battery you must pull off before using it. Second you get best results it the remote is very close to the unit, perhaps within six inches, and it must be pointed accurately at the correct spot as well. harikc1980 said:Mine arrived two days ago..and the clarity is great...equal to CD player... How do you play random?? I'd certainly like that feature, but can't find it. Also, my remote only works if held at 2-3 inches away, not farther. Is that normal? |

May be because of that reason, mine stopped working afetra trip to Montreal from DC My remote barely worked since I got it. It have to hold it at not more than 2-3 inches away, and even then it's only sometimes. It's a weak battery that does that?

Yes the remote isn't exactly great at operating over long distances. When held only a few inches away it is fairly easy to use and point with sufficient accuracy. When held quite a longer distance away the results are more sporadic and you have to be fairly careful to point it just exactly properly. Most TV remotes run off of AAA or AA size batteries rather than a tiny lithium coin cell for a reason; they have much more longevity and power output capability and so more powerful (brighter) LEDs can be used and the remote code pattern can be a more robust one given a better battery. I imagine that one could buy a "universal remote" that could learn or be set to use the codes compatible with these units and have better remote functionality and longevity of batteries by doing so. If one is a bit technically adept one could replace the Infrared LED with a more powerful one and replace the battery with a more powerful one also for better results, but just accepting the limits of the included unit will often be the best choice. |

I have used it for a month. Functioning well. But sound quality is bad. Mono sound and some uncomfortable distortion. I bought sansa view recently. I connected sansa view to cassette adapter and the sound quality is much better! |

Yeah, I don't think it can browse folders. How do you play random?? I'd certainly like that feature, but can't find it. Also, my remote only works if held at 2-3 inches away, not farther. Is that normal? To get random play you have to Press and HOLD Play for about 2 seconds. If you see the screen I think it will have a little symbol with an S for sequential I think. I then Press and Hold once more and It changes the symbol to R for random. For the remote, it is finicky but I can now get mine to work from about a foot away. You need to poinnt right at the screen and firmly press the command you want. The remote buttons are not that sensitive so some force is needed. As for the complaint of this being terrible and worse than the casette adapter I agree because that is considered a hardline connection to the stereo. Many newer cars only have CD players and no Tape players and the only solution to get mp3 is a FM transmitter, or get a new head unit. I have had many FM transmitters for Ipod and this is the best. No other lets you sequentially pick out the best station. It is very strong. I think it may be past FCC regulations on transmitting power. Good for me. It's a great way to get the mp3 on your car without installing much or alot of wires. By the way 87.9 has been a great station for me to broadcast on. 8gb of my own music on SSDHC random is great! I had one that didn't work and DealExtreme sent me a new one out. Great customer experience. |

Link I got this 3 of these type transmitters from DealExtreme months ago(for cheaper bulk cost). The reception is only ok. It has a bending elbow. But if you bend it the unit may disconnect contact from cigarette lighter momentarily, thus reseting the transmitter continously. This can be annoying. But I am more or less happy with these things and DealExtreme. WalMart and other brick and motar stores sell these transmitters for around $20 each. |
