I recommend this. I have been through a TON of routers that supported various firmware, and anything at this price range that even runs DD-WRT mini/micro is a good deal. I've never had lockups with more recent firmware revisions. I have a few of these in my house acting as repeater bridges so I have massive amounts of coverage.
Give me a couple of weeks and I'll report back. I doubt I'll have any trouble with this, though. It feels pretty decent. It is super light.
I ordered with in store pickup 2 hours ago. Still no email. Do I need to wait until I get the email before going to the store? I know the store is closed now. Just wanted to know how it works. Thanx
That's for a MUCH older revision of DD-WRT mini. The newer revisions have complete compatibility and are super stable/fast and all of the kinks are worked out. You just lost out on a really good router because you read a thread that was over a year out of date
Btw, everyone, don't forget to turn on web GUI management after flashing, otherwise you won't be able to apply any changes.
sorry for the noob question -- i was reading about DD-WRT and dont' really understand the main benefits over a basic user like me. what would a average joe user benefit from flashing it?

as to running dd-wrt, I would recommend Linksys and buffalo since dd-wrt has been developed and improved for these 2 brands for longs, especially, linksys.
If you are getting this router as an "as is" router, then you are better off waiting for a good deal (possibly FAR) on one of those D-Link or Trendnet router. The main reason (and probably the only reason I can think off) is that people are getting it for its DD-WRT compatibility. The main benefit that pop off my head right away is "stability", which of course is a key when you talking about internet connection. I am pretty sure the rest of the expert users can fill you in on all other benefits.

I didnt say it isnt fully supported by dd-wrt. I meant it is just not as good as linksys and baffalo in term of stability and performance while running dd-wrt.

yes it does, but i need encryption for my downloading needs (if you know what i mean).
