Just came back from Sunnyvale, CA Fry's and they have this PlusTV HD USB box for $29.99 no rebate. The price tag still showing $39.99, but when check out, they scan the bar code for $29.99 only.

When I notice the same model is selling $71.59 @ Buy.com link for buy.com and online is $39.99 Fry's online, I think it's a very good deal.

The QAM tuner cannot receive any digital cable signal while my TV can.
It cannot work properly under vista home basic. Some times there is no sound at all. Sometimes the device just quit working and requires restart the program.
The video is not smooth with integrated video card or my Geforce 7200. Not sure if a better video card can help.
I can't help on qam or vista, but I'd guess you might not have it setup correctly, afaik it's not oob.

I wouldn't bother using their app or any manufacturer's app. Generally they suck. Kworlds drivers are here (usb atsc tv box) The 310 is packaged with the 315, so you might be able to use watchhdtv. That's what I currently use with my artec t14a.

If you want smooth 1080 playback you *need* a new video card. choose something that can deinterlace hd from the pdf found on this page or choose something newer with >=10gb/s memory bandwidth, anything cheap ati or nvidia that can do that will do fine.

It is a junk. You better keep your $30. I tried 2 of this on 3 different PCs, none of them work good. It didn't work with my media center 2005, then I hooked it to Vista ultimate laptop. Windows vista found the hardware but didn't find any digital channels. However, my media center 2005 with digital converter got all digital channels. Then, I hooked it to my windows xp pro pc and installed the software which came with the tuner. They seem to work but got bad signal all the time. So, I gave up and returned it bad to fry's.

I got both the 330 and 340U when they were on sale for less than $20 AR. They both work very well for me. I have no problem with Vista Home Basic - core 2 dual with 4 gb ram and upgraded ATI video card. I haven't tried the QAM function yet since I don't have cable with me for now. The full version Total Media is better but the basic version that comes with both tuner works just fine. I highly recommend them especially when they are less than $20.
