Toshiba Satellite® M305D-S4831 14.1" Widescreen Notebook Computer With AMD Turion™ X2 Dual-Core Processor RM-70
14.1"-diagonal widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) TruBrite® LCD screen
AMD Turion X2 processor RM-70 operating at 2.0GHz
1MB L2 cache
Up to 3600 MT/s frontside bus
4GB of PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM memory (the maximum configuration)
200GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive
I don't know if I am the only one, but I think this is hot. This machine has the 780v chipset (Radeon HD 3100), it is a true 14.1" and has eSATA and firewire. It also has a webcam and microphone. Even better, the fit and finish is first rate. The only 2 minor details are no gigabit Ethernet and no HDMI. It has Vista 64 bits, and I think it even has OS media.
Oh yes, I know, the fanboys will come back and say "it is an AMD" but for 97% of the time that will make no difference. Battery capacity is 4800mAh, will should give close to 4 hrs (For reference, my old and trusty emachines M6805 had a 4400 mAh battery and gave me 3 hrs of web browsing/office use. The M6805 had a mobile Athlon 64 "clawhammer", VIA K8T800 desktop chipset and mobility radeon 9600 discrete graphics. I don't see how a machine with a bigger battery and much more power efficient componets might be worse at battery life)
This is the machine I want, and I might bite the bullet. Green for OP!
