WRONG!
Syntax-Brillian's (parent company of Olevia) bankruptcy is being over-hyped. Sure they filed for Chapter 11 protection, but sold off the Olevia brand to a new company called Olevia International Group. OIG has maintained the service support infrastructure of the initial company, so warranty and support issues should not be a problem.
FYI the following was posted 3 days ago on AVS forum:
Warning to all olevia owners!!!

OLEVIA IS RUNNING OUT OF MONEY
I currently have a 265 and have loved it even with its flaws. Olevia sent me a replacement TV since mine has that spinning cricket sound (that comes on when you turn the TV on, but disappears when the picture appears) which continues after the picture comes up for about 5 mins or so and then goes away.
Now the bad part. My replacement is sitting about 30 miles from my house at the shippers warehouse. Apparently Syntax Brillian has not paid its bills to the shipper (as most know, Syntax Brillian, maker of Olevia is in bankruptcy trying to work out of it) and the shipper will not bring it to my house until SB pays its bills. They have had my TV since the 18th. Both sides are pretty mum about it, the shipper first said it was the wrong model sent, then Olveia said there was no problem on their side. Today I finally got both sides to admit there is a payment problem, however reluctantly. The shipper says there are at least 10 other people in my situation.
All is not lost for me. Even if I dont get that TV, I have the Sams warranty to fall back on after my one year. Since I only have $1999 in the TV, I dont mind the cricket noise all that much. I would keep it push come to shove. I just love the size and HD picture it gives.
Im going to tell the shipper, if it turns out that Olevia will not settle their bill, I will come down and pay the shipping myself and when Olevia pays me the money I pay for the shipping, they can have their defective set back. Dont know if the shipper will go for it, but that is my TV and they are just in charge of shipping it. I don't think they can keep it? We'll see.
So if anyone is considering sending their unit back, beware you might want to hold on to it til things settle down a bit. Or take it back to Sams or whereever you purchased it. Not sure things will get better.
