32" Olevia LCD at Sears BM for $369 YMMV
I picked up a 32 inch Olevia at the Altamonte, Florida Sears brand new in the box for $369. This was on clearance and they had one left tonight. TV is only 720P but got pretty good reviews in the past and was listed originally at $599.

sku is 3057 71917

model # is 232-S13

Good find. That's an in-store markdown with 191 in the SKU. Very YMMV but good job! I also suggest to anyone else a trip to your local Sears to see what they have on clearance. I got 3 LCD tv's for about $640 total a month ago from Sears. 42" Olevia 1080p $275, 42" Hitachi Plasma $275, 26" Olevia LCD $99. Here is receipt for 2 of them: Receipt

I actually stopped back at Sears a few times since then as they've made me a customer for life after that 3 LCD TV hookup. They have some other great clearance items in the appliance section. Bout to go back and pickup a nice kenmore dishwasher thats marked down huge.

Bought a 40" LCD Sony 1080p KDL40V3000 for $810.00 clearance priced (10% off for display model and additional 10% off for using Sears credit)+$167.00 for three year inhome service warranty. Sears gave me the wrong remote so they ordered new one at no expense to me...great store

Sure, they are more than happy to get you a remote when you give them $167 for extended warranty.

WRONG!

Syntax-Brillian's (parent company of Olevia) bankruptcy is being over-hyped. Sure they filed for Chapter 11 protection, but sold off the Olevia brand to a new company called Olevia International Group. OIG has maintained the service support infrastructure of the initial company, so warranty and support issues should not be a problem.

How do you find clearance items at Sears? I know mine must have them, but I never see them!!! Is it a clearance table or mixed in with the full priced products? Are they clearly marked?

They are clearly marked. Open items are normally found sitting on the floor open with a tag explaining why its reduced and shows the before and after price.
clearance items are found intermixed with there other models and normally contain a clearance tag on the item. The tags are "supposed" to be in the upper right of the product but sometimes minimum wage makes you too lazy to even do that so position of the tag is ymmv

lol.. for the price of TV. I think I lost about 50 of them. I didnt sell mine fast enough on their stock.
Just buy the extended warranty for Sears. If you care when they go bad.
Olevia TV is good, unless you got a lemon.

I have this TV and it's a great value.

I am not a fan of extended warranties, but have it on this tv - GOOD THING! Under the Olevia warranty you have to send the TV to Olevia in CA - my TV has issues and the shipping was $57 or so. I then called and bought the entended warranty 1 week before the one year Olevia warranty was up. In my case it's an in home warranty, no shipping no hassle.

In my case they are getting me a NEW tv as parts are not available. Something to keep in mind.

FYI the following was posted 3 days ago on AVS forum:

Warning to all olevia owners!!!

OLEVIA IS RUNNING OUT OF MONEY

I currently have a 265 and have loved it even with its flaws. Olevia sent me a replacement TV since mine has that spinning cricket sound (that comes on when you turn the TV on, but disappears when the picture appears) which continues after the picture comes up for about 5 mins or so and then goes away.

Now the bad part. My replacement is sitting about 30 miles from my house at the shippers warehouse. Apparently Syntax Brillian has not paid its bills to the shipper (as most know, Syntax Brillian, maker of Olevia is in bankruptcy trying to work out of it) and the shipper will not bring it to my house until SB pays its bills. They have had my TV since the 18th. Both sides are pretty mum about it, the shipper first said it was the wrong model sent, then Olveia said there was no problem on their side. Today I finally got both sides to admit there is a payment problem, however reluctantly. The shipper says there are at least 10 other people in my situation.

All is not lost for me. Even if I dont get that TV, I have the Sams warranty to fall back on after my one year. Since I only have $1999 in the TV, I dont mind the cricket noise all that much. I would keep it push come to shove. I just love the size and HD picture it gives.

Im going to tell the shipper, if it turns out that Olevia will not settle their bill, I will come down and pay the shipping myself and when Olevia pays me the money I pay for the shipping, they can have their defective set back. Dont know if the shipper will go for it, but that is my TV and they are just in charge of shipping it. I don't think they can keep it? We'll see.

So if anyone is considering sending their unit back, beware you might want to hold on to it til things settle down a bit. Or take it back to Sams or whereever you purchased it. Not sure things will get better.

My American Express Blue doubles the manufacturers warranty so hopefully I should be covered for 2 years.
