Description says 6-Cell Lithium-Ion battery
coupled with the Celeron I'd guess 1.5 hrs.

i know this is a great price, but should i be concerned that it is not a dual core? i just need a laptop to play music, watch movies, and for microsoft office.

what are you talking about? This one has a DVD burner and it's just as heavy as any 15" notebook out there.

wouldn't surprise me. I have a Compaq laptop, and I pulled the original sempron socket S1 AMD CPU from it and put in a dual-core TL-56. Not Intel, I know, but it's a recent model HP laptop at least.
