Any idea on the battery life for this thing?

Nevermind. I was incorrect

Nice! That'll solve one holiday gift for the wife, and then her old laptop can go to our daughter. Thanks, OP!

Description says
6-Cell Lithium-Ion battery

coupled with the Celeron I'd guess 1.5 hrs.

i know this is a great price, but should i be concerned that it is not a dual core? i just need a laptop to play music, watch movies, and for microsoft office.

billybabe3883 said: One of the cheapest prices I have seen in awhile that doesnt involve a rebate. My only hesitation is the weight and no dvd burner

what are you talking about? This one has a DVD burner and it's just as heavy as any 15" notebook out there.

ignore....sorry accidentally recreated message.

Green! Free t-shirt for you.

Cool...I read the description incorrectly. I thought no DVD burner.

8X DVD±R/RW drive

RW mean read write???

Great deal. You can always upgrade to dual core in the future.

whooops, bought it....

OOS - DEAD

The last HP Laptop I got with a Celeron and a 6cell lasted over 4 hours. Granted, this was a biz machine, but I'd say 2.5 hours at least on this one.

Can't seem to checkout.

Either OOS or WalMart.com's in the process of changing the price.

having a problem checking out

can not purchase ... strange

its already out of stock

Anything that says DVD-R or DVD+R is a burner. RW means re-writable (haven't seen a burner in rears that can't also use rewritable disks).

If it was read-only it was say DVD-ROM.

"Out of Stock Online"

Don't think you can upgrade this line of HP notebooks. Most likely the CPU is soldered on the motherboard.

This is a great deal for homework NB

out of stock online

i just received a email from WalMart canceling my order becouse there out of stock bad luck

I think the CPU is not soldered. Here is the Service manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01529106.pdf
pp 82 and 83 detail replacing the CPU.

OOS online and
OOS in store

DEAD!

Did you place your order before you posted this thread? If so, that means we're all likely to get canceled.

i purchase it first then i posted it here

wouldn't surprise me. I have a Compaq laptop, and I pulled the original sempron socket S1 AMD CPU from it and put in a dual-core TL-56. Not Intel, I know, but it's a recent model HP laptop at least.

Hop in your DeLorean, hit 88 MPH and go back to Fall 2008.

While you're at it... go back a little further (~Oct 07??) and sell all your stocks.

Go Back to 1981–1989 so we can have a real president
