Uh, yes they do. Read my original link. You just use a tripod and carefully position it. Using the information in that link you can calibrate almost any device.

Is there a good guide for calibrating computer LCDs with the Eye-One Display?

What makes this model different from the Eye One Display 2?

Again, that's covered extensively in the calibration link I posted in the OP. The difference is the included software, if you are big on photos you might want the higher end one (which is also at a great price).

Well, first, the dyes aren't in the right spectral spot- so any calibration you're performing is a 'just that kinda hack' approach that isn't really a calibration or even an optimization.

We rate and evaluate all these devices for various customers. This one is 2nd to last in terms of performance and color accuracy. I can't comment on the Color Munki yet because we haven't finished it.... however it does look impressive so far. Don't know if it'll pass the black level hair dryer test yet.

Buy a DTP-94 used and you'll get much better results- it compared to our spectraphotometer in terms of accuracy and consistency- and used they go for about 60$.

I appreciate your comments, but won't that be evened-out by the fact that this is a "dummies" guide and is step-by-step enough for about anybody? It isn't just the equipment, its the technique. Even with the dummies guide you are still going to have to go into service menus, which isn't great for everybody either. Can you use the dummies guide and the software referenced in the link with the DTP-94? If not, then you are back to trying to figure this out on your own probably. . . obviously I'm not a pro, I'm not trying to start an argument, but if there are other ways to do any type of a calibration for less than $150, I haven't seen it.

If this one is 2nd to last in terms of performance and color accuracy in your testing, where does the Spyder land? I find it interesting you are bashing the quality of the device when it is supposedly much better than the Spyder and this thread is referenced by many on the AVS forums which obviously many high-end people frequent. If the hardware is that bad, I don't guess it matters if you use it on a RP or LCD or Plasma device--the results would still be suspect.

So you're not only saying the technique with this device doesn't past muster for a projector setup, the hardware also isn't good. If that's the case, even $130-150 isn't cheap enough.

Still available, anybody else want to chime in on what purduephotog said? I didn't read anything like this at avsforum.

I guess the price went back up. Too bad I didn't see this post earlier. I guess I'll be buying one from the local retailer.
I plan to use it to calibrate my RPTV and 2 plasma TVs using the software in the OP. According to this article http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11436 , you shouldn't be buying used colorimeter. They suggest replacing them every 2 years so not really sure if DTP-94 would be a better choice (considering you can not buy it new). BTW HCFR supports DPT-94.
