Most of what I did is covered in the old thread or the thegreenbutton site. I installed the transcode360 on my Vista Ultimate Laptop. Then installed the VideoBrowser (check the link for this plug-in at the above site). For installing the transcode360, I followed a guide published by someone. I think I followed this guide hxxp://windowsmediacenter.blogspot.com/2008/07/using-transcode-360-with-my-movies-and.html
You have the choice of using OML, MyMovies or VideoBrowser to watch VOB files from the extender. I have 2 out 3 working. There are limitation to using the trancode360 - such as it will continue to transcode the entire vob file, even if you stop playing. However, the advantage is that you don't have to transcode the next time. There is an option to tell it how many movies to keep in the cache, to not overwhelm the disk space. Mine is set at 3.
Feel free to ask any question or PM me.

sunnyvali said:Got one from the Newegg deal also. It took few hours to setup so that I could stream ripped vobs in VIDEO_TS folders. It works now that I have the right plugins. I have mine hardwired and don't have any issues streaming. I did try wireless (G) and it worked OK, but on one of the movies, I lost audio in the middle of the movie. So, that was it for wireless option.
I have not tried any of my music in FLAC format. I coverted all of the FLAC files to MP3 to be more compatable with extenders and such.
Next step is to install the NetFlix plug-in to stream movies (or save them for later watching)and I'm all set... My wife loves this gadget. It's small, quite and she can play any movie or music and now on NetFlix too.
It does take time to make this Extender to what it's not setup to do out of the box. I do recommend updating the firmware on it.
Having streaming....
