Ok, This is my first hot deal.
Got an email from paypal. Buy Airline ticket(s) total $250 from northwest airlines (nwa.com) and pay using your paypal account and you get $50 rebate! This is great if you plan a family vacation this winter! Travel from 11/15 through 1/31. Deal only good until 10/13/08. Good for first 5 tickets, I'm assuming you purchase each separately and you get up to $250 back.

I haven't flown on NWA in over 10 years, but I just booked with them for later this month. Cheapest fares for my part of country. Unfortunately I already bought ticket before getting this email.

If you don't live near a Northworst hub, then avoid flying with them. Their service is the worst. Their staff are the worst.

The $50 savings is not worth the poor service and frustration.

Well, since I'm trying to get to Miami on 11/21 I guess I'll give this a try. Thanks OP.

WOW! After reading this I did some airline ratings research and you are correct. Accordiny to 30 reviews NW basically SUCKS! Oh well, easy come, easy go. Thanks for the headsup though. No offense meant to you OP as $50 off is still a good deal.

This is a great deal for traveling during the holiday season... You'll only see the price go higher once the promotion expires. The price for flying during this time of the year usually is the most expensive, summer vacation is the next... Do not hold your expectation high when you travel during the peak seasons since you're seeing everybody at the airport, otherwise, NWA in my opinion is still a decent airlines.

FYI, Northwest is in process merging with Delta. Your NWA souvenirs like playing cards or small model airplanes might worth some money for the years to come...
