Small items, but I thought some people might have missed it. Each free after a $5 rebate, either:

Crucial 1GB microSD with full SD adapter - 5721112
or
Crucial 1GB SD - 5721092

Here's the microSD REBATE form.
Here's the regular SD REBATE form.

Online has it for $6.99 before the same $5 rebate. Plus ~$6.39 shipping kills that possibility though.

EDIT: one rebate form for each. Different product and rebate offer # means you can get both.

Also, in LA Times Fry's insert, they have a 4 port USB 2.0 portable Hub (no external power) with molded USB cable, which is again FAR, after $4.99 rebate, (of course you are still paying the tax)

In case you are in the market for one...

Does anyone know if the USB Hub is available in San Jose, California? This is exactly what I am looking for to buy my brother. Thank you!

My gosh, I've been trying to navigate through San Jose Mercury News online since I posted the reply above. The site seems to have slowed to a crawl for me, timing out about 75% of the time! Thanks for the direct link.

Edit: Darn, just received a "Server Error in '/' Application" (Server Too Busy) notice and the page isn't loading.

Edit (again): Found it! It's on the third page. Thanks, everyone. I'll be leaving the house in 5 minutes.

That FAR Belkin hub is USB 1.1; it's pretty much useless these days.

Quick question: Will using a USB 1.1 port for printers be a lot slower than USB 2.0? Thanks.

My Samsung ML1710 Laser Printer is running off a DLink Wireless Printer Server on a USB1.1 connection. I usually fire the print job from upstairs and it would have printed on the printer downstairs by the time I go down to pick it up

Haven't tested with other peripherals, but once used a USB 1.1 hub for 2.0 flash drives, transferring was hell slow

I'm sure transferring data would be a lot slower, but for printing purposes, I am hoping USB 1.1 would be fine.

if you're JUST using it for printer, you don't really need a hub then, do you? At most just an extension USB cord. If you want it to plug in the printer AND other items, then you get back to the point that you should probably wait for a 2.0 hub on special. Only reason you wouldn't need a 2.0 really was if you have a system old enough not to have USB 2.0 (ie 6years or so old). In which case I'd suggest watching for one of the USB 2.0 PCI cards that are on sale every so often.

Older systems would have 2 or 4 intergrated 1.1 USB ports and mostly use PS/2 keyboard and mouse; how would you run out of those USB ports ?

I bought this for my brother. He needs more because his computer only has two ports. He's using one for a wireless Internet adapter (he just left 56k modem and went to DSL this summer) and another for his mouse, which uses USB. For a while now, whenever he wants to print something, he has to unplug his mouse and navigate with the keyboard. He just got his first music player last week, so he needs a new USB port, so I figured I might as well get him a new hub, albeit a USB 1.1 one.

Crucial Rebate sucks - beware - they deny rebates for no good reason and change their phone numbers frequently - I jut got declined again and the phone number on the rebate told me "no longer servicing any promotions" and hang up. Try going to http://www.Crucial.com/rebate/ and call the number on that page - that's the same number as on my rebate form. This form has a new number - which is answered by "Lexar rebates", but I bet you by the time you will get your denial notice they will change the number again.
