Best combo deal I have seen this year!

Link

Items Included:

Intel Core 2 Quad FREE Video Card Upgrade Bundle - Q6700 2.66GHz Processor (OEM), Sparkle GeForce 8500GT 512MB PCI Express, HP dvd1035i DVD Writer (Retail), ATX Mid-Tower, 450-Watt Power Supply. Total $259.99!

Plus you get $20.00 back if you pay with PayPal. Takes a few weeks to get the amount deposited into your account.

Case is ok, but the real deal here is the CPU+Video+DVD Writer.

Hmm no motherboard neither... CrapUSA has lived up to it's name.

On a side note, Q6600 OCs better then 6700, which just has a higher multiplier. Also, Fry's always have combos with a decent board and 6600 for less. Oh did I mention Fry's combo is a retail packaging which comes with the factory fan?

Yes DDR2s are cheap, but 8500 is worth less then $50 in my opinion, and that DVD burner? Well, you can get a better one (SATA versus PATA) for around $20.

As for the case? Well it's not hard to find good case with a 450w PSU for cheap too.

Just my dime (adjusted for inflation).

Memory can be had cheap now. Even on CompUSA's site. This is a nice deal for anyone looking to possibly build another system for the house or just use the parts for upgrading.

wow and you gain a bad video card a bad dvd drive an a horrible case.

The price is great considering it includes a quad core Intel. You might want to watch out for the warranty policy. This was all i could find on site:

This Item's Warranty is:
- Months Parts
- Months Labor

The cpu alone is $269.00 at Newegg. It's a good price I think if you are looking for this cpu and basically getting everything else for free.

I'd pick it up if it had a motherboard, don't care for the vid card and writer personally.

You'd have to pay me to use that no name PSU. I can smell my internals frying now

"A CPU cooling fan is not included with this CPU", so forget the main parts, the motherboard and the memory.

Good thing they didn't put an additional price on the headache you would have, dealing with these parts.

Well, at Newegg, it's the retail price. CompUSA is the OEM version. (No heatsink.)

On the other hand, paypal for $20 off, 3% Cash Back, keep the processor, and sell the crappy components on Craigsli-s or fleabay for a few extra bucks. Could work out okay if you're in the market for this processor.

Thats my whole point here.

If you are looking for this cpu or really just any quad cpu that is fast, this is a decent deal. Dump everything else on fleabay!

Not anymore since late July. In fact, Fry's has discontinued the boxed Q6600 since July and later depleted the OEM version in mid September off a $150 combo deal. They currently don't even plan on getting either version restocked. Anyone looking for a cheap Q6600/6700 at the moment should seek other channels rather than Fry's.

BTW, Q6700 overclocks just as well as the Q6600 - the key is what *batch* one gets, which varies almost week to week.

Hey thanks for the update, I haven't been to Fry's for a while
