Toyota Offers 0% on certain models (Camry, Matrix, Corolla etc.)

Was actually checking out USA Today / WalStreet Journal etc.. when I came upon this.

In a bid to revive traffic in showrooms, Toyota will offer 0% financing on 11 models through Nov. 3. The deal covers most of the Toyota brand except hybrids and the Yaris subcompact. The company's Scion and Lexus brands are not included.

Vehicles covered under the campaign include Camry, Corolla, Matrix, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, 4Runner, Highlander, Sequoia, Sienna, RAV4 and Tacoma. Toyota will offer free financing for between 36 and 60 months depending on the vehicle, according to Randy Pflughaupt, a senior marketing executive at Toyota Motor Sales.

Essentially this is all due to horrid recent sales results for September of 08 when compared to 07. Approx 32.3% less sales. So voila.. 0% financing.. To bad it excludes Lexus brands..

Good deal if I was in the market for a car.

Toyota dealers usually want a credit score of 730+ to qualify for 0% financing specials.

Forgot to mention - FJ's take premium gas and windshields are expensive if you have to replace them.

just wait until january/february when everyone is broke from the holidays and getting their credit card bills. the prices are going to be the best then, and by then they will be again giving credit to anyone who can manage to open the door and get inside.

LOL
Insurance covers that (less deductible) here in PA - otherwise I imagine replacing any windshield would be expensive.

Good thing I got my Prius last year when they still have 0% on it

BTW my Insurance doesn't cover glass (w/o $500 deductible). At 50 miles I got a crack in the prius windshield, dealer wanted $850+, local shop did it for $180. Shop around...

Dawn, If sales is down 32% then it need much more than 0% financing even if you're the number 1 car maker. And as "drpepper7" said sale was down even with that financing in effect then it definitely going to have more sweeteners coming. I'm holding out till January since I can open a car door. Thank OPS and "disposable"

I replaced a windshield for my altima - only $180 in Houston. PM me if you want the name of the place. Most dealerships don't replace windshields, but call in people (like the company I used) to go to the dealership to replace the windshield.

The local Nissan dealership wanted $500 to replace the windshield.

Are you just joking or is this for real?
If it is the case, I'll wait till next Jan to pull the trigger.

end of dec and jan is good... promise! end of sept is also good since dealers are clearing out old stock.

At this point, waiting for Jan/Feb is only an opinion. While its a reasonable opinion, the only thing "for real" is that the incentive expires 3 NOV 2008. After that, you just have to believe that conditions are not going to improve enough that they will extend the incentive even further.

January is one of the best months to buy a car. It's a very slow sales month and they need to clear out the previous year's models. The last week of January is probably the best time of the year to buy a car. Dealers make money based on volume. If they're close to reaching the next payment tier at the end of the month they will bend over backwards to get you into a car.
