This flashlight ROCKS, but is VERY limited in availability. (Lowest On-line price is $32.99 plus shipping).

Thanks for the suggestion.

EDIT:

Holy Carp! Someone told me to remind people that all 3 Duracell models have a lifetime guarantee! I should have read the package before throwing it away. That cements the value equation!

How long does the battery on this last?

You mean, "How long is the battery life rated for if you were to leave it on continuously?" I have not seen this information anywhere, but for most people, it is probably not indicative of a real life scenario. Generally, we only need light for a specific purpose, for a limited amount of time. (Cave explorers being one of the exceptions) That being said, I have had this model since the 2nd week in August. It hasn't been used continuously of course, but there is no apparent loss in power yet.

The "Run time" is based on the wattage of the LED, the voltage of the source, and the capacity of the source. Running only four watts on a pair of CR123 batteries (Good capacity cells) will provide a long run time I would say. For reference, the two 3 watt LED flashlights on this page give off 80 lumens, and are rated for 11 hours run time.

Surefire flashlight runtime comparisons

Since the Daylite generates twice the lumens, I would venture to say that the "Continuous" run time for this torch is a little less than 5.5 hours. (4 watts versus 3) If the longer continuous run time is more important to you, I would consider the two other Duracell Daylite models, which are both 80 lumens, but with 2AA or 3AAA batteries.

Sorry I cannot be more specific on this. If a definitive rating is discovered, I'll be sure to post it.

The surefire site also has a pretty good price on 12 packs of CR123 batteries:

I saw this at Costco B&M. It was a 2 pack combo with a big and small sized models.

I'm going to have to return my Sams Club LED flashlights for these.

The costco ones. Were they the duracell ones that take CR123 batteries????

Based on the posted description of "two different sizes" in the Costco 2-pack, at least one of them is an 80 lumens model. Most likely they both are 80 Lumens models (2AA & 3AAA versions). When I called Duracell about a week ago, they told me that the 160 lumens model was only available in some (not all) Ace's and some TrueValues. The 160's will not be sold at WalMart, but will be available at Target towards the end of the year. Full scale distribution will not be until after the Christmas holiday. I was amazed to find them even in limited quantities at some Blain's.

Picked up two at the Waukesha location (they were hanging on the AA version tag), very impressive flashlight.

Thanks OP!

THATs' what I'm sayin! These things are awesome! Just showed it to a Baltimore cop who uses stingers. He couldn't believe it for the price. (And they come WITH batteries!)

I got the Costco pack about 2 months ago, there're two 2K Luxeon flashlights in the package made by Dorcy. The picture shows the 6 AAA flashlight with 160 lumens and the 3 AAA flashlight with 140 lumens. They last a long time with the original AAA batteries, the NiMh rechargeable batterries does not last as long.

Thank you OP. Got 3 out of 4 at Montgomery, IL store. They DID NOT HAVE THEM ON DISPLAY. The guy had to go to the back and find them. Awesome flashlight.

Uh, Duracell doesn't make a 6AAA battery Daylite, or a 140 Lumens Daylite model.

It's Dorcy 2 pack, item number 231193. 3W for the 3AAA and 3.9W for the 6AAA. I have 3 pictures taken with my cell phone this morning, I could email you later if you PM me. Paid $29.99 for both flashlights in the pack.

It seems we are talking about two different Costco 2-paks.
