For those who may have been waiting for the Camp Rock Guitars to be reduced below the $49.98 price where is has been sitting for a few weeks, it finally happened. The stickers do not reflect the current price. I got the last electric guitar in my store (Frederick, MD), but there were at least 3 acoustic ones left. Not to mention the boom boxes and various other Camp Rock items which may have also been on clearance. Taken any of these items to a price checker to make sure there isn't a better price available. Wish I had checked on the boomboxes, would make a great birthday present at $20 or less.

Do you have an item number? It should be on your receipt.

I picked up an acoustic for $22.48 today. Thanks OP
Model CRA34 # 057 12 0097

Please note: it is a 3/4 size guitar... for small hands

Didnt see any boom boxes or electric guitars.

Snagged a 3/4-size acoustic. It's a Washburn, and it's probably worth about $22. But it's good enough to find out whether my seven-year-old daughter is interested enough to get something better down the line. Thanks, OP.

Buy one if you want to discourage kids from playing music. I didn't think it was possible to be disappointed by a $25 electric guitar, but this is an awful, awful instrument. I can only believe that if this was to be someone's first guitar, it would also be their last. This is coming from someone who had a Mako for their first guitar.

On the other hand, I was shocked to see how playable the $22 Hannah Montana acoustic is.

We opened the Camp Rock box and strummed it a little. The sound quality was not good at all... IMO

The sound quality might be improved by replacing the strings. I wouldn't be surprised if they had rubberbands installed on a $25 guitar. The thing I would be most worried about are the tuners and the nut slots. You'll probably have to replace the nut or carve it out when you go to replace the strings with real strings. When you replace the strings with real strings, I'd be afraid of the quality of the tuners and how well it will stay in tune.

It's definitely a catch 22. I wish I would have had ANY guitar when I was a kid. Then again, as an adult who does play guitar now, I would want to skip over a sub-introductory level like this and get a cheap Brownsville or something. Something is better than nothing, but the extra cash spent will go a loooong way if your kid is seriously interested in playing.
