Nice - even the refurbs are $170 + shipping
It is an old model with 3.5" screen that is not very bright. The next generation 200 line gives the same functionality at lower cost. You can also select 4.3" screen. Expect some struggle in receiving the most recent version (2009) of maps.
Will is somewhat right. This model is discontinued.
However, it is still better than the 200 series in terms of size, reception (connect speed) and best battery life.
Also, find me the equivalent 200 series (with TTS) for the same price??
I have the 650 (wide screen) version of this and I wish I had the 350 instead... The batter life is at least 1-2hr better than mine. I didn't need the bigger screen.
There are many (including me) who prefer the 300-series to the newer Garmin navigation systems. I own the 360, which is identical to the 350 but adds bluetooth (which I never use). The Garmin interface is top notch, the text to speech is great, and the 300-series come with an A/C adapter and case, which I believe are optional on the newer units.
My 360 switches easily between car & motorcycle (all I needed was a RAM mount for the bike), and I always take it with me when I travel.
Amazon claims that you'll get the newer maps due to their high volume, so I would push Garmin into giving you an unlock code if the unit comes with older maps.
Hello. I am new to the gps world and I am deciding between the 350 and the Garmin C580. Any opinions and/or preference between the 2?
Thanks!
I've had this model for 2 years and it's been great. The screen really isn't dim at all and it's one of the better units in terms of satellite-acquiring speed, which is useful for startup time and also re-routes when you miss your turn and the unit has to plot a new course to your destination. I recommend it for anyone who wants a GPS. I paid $350 for mine, and still love it at that price. $170 is a no brainer.
The price has dropped again at Amazon to $159.99
