EDIT
Just got an eMail, he wanted $40
I wittled it down to $20
What the heck is wrong with you people?! If you don't qualify for the deal, move on! This the the epitome of RDMustang1's post - if you're going to cheat to get in on the deal you might as well steal/pirate/etc a copy.

Kudos to the DreamSpark verification system in place. I just hope they can keep out the liars and cheaters so that those that actually qualify can participate in the offer.

Green for you OP. Cant say the same for those that cheat the system just to get what s/he wants.

Whats the diff who get's the offer.
Me or the real student.

M$ is trying to get real students off Mac and hooked on PC. They are concerned that the cute Mac ads are actually working. Plus some ed majors HAVE to buy a Mac laptop so M$ is worried the current generation will one day reject its overpriced software and instead use even more overpriced software.

to the other posters, I think the op didn't mean FW university literally. you have to be a real student at an accredited educational institution

Google "ISIC Card" and select "images" I am now from Estonia...

What some of you are suggesting is downright illegal and maybe hypocritical. If you hate Microsoft (and only 14 year old children type M$), why go to all this length to steal their software? Just admit you're cheap and leave the issue as whether or not this is a good deal for STUDENTS, which it is.

I'm not going to download this. And I hate apple even more than M$. And I'm not a child at all, and I can't be the only adult in the world that types M$. I have four computers, I use XP on two and Vista on two (legal copies no less). I never suggested stealing software. My only form of weak protest is to use open office and non MS browsers. In case you haven't noticed, there aren't very many choices in available operating systems. Vista even works ok as long as a system has enough ram and you turn off some of the bloated options. But M$ business practices are horrible, they pinch pennies like Bill Gates was starving in the street. And don't forget X-box crashes. They are an awful company, but I'll use Windows over Mac.

People turning this website into a haven for sharing information on how to thwart protection schemes for software that are intended for people who actually cant afford this, aka (students). Mods need to step up before you people start getting fatwallet in trouble.

Luckily my SO has an NYU ID, so I'll have to download this later.

Thank OP!

My daughters in high school dont count?

They do mean college, yes.

Guess I'm not the only one that noticed their change to the software list. I saw the Expression 2.0 collection on the TOS list last week but it wasn't available to download, was rather pleased to find out they offered up the whole new line of 08 when I came back. Ditching Vista, 08 as OS ftw.

Wow I attend University of South Florida but it seems to be the only school on their list that doesnt work lol

I just sent in a screenshot of my online schedule. I hope that's good enough for them. I did it through the Journey Ed website. This is pretty awesome! I have a coding project for my engineering class, and I was planning on using Blue J. I'm so happy that I can actually have a good compiler/debugger now!

Thanks OP!
