I read in the Wall Street Journal last week that VMware released its new "Unity Mode" feature. This lets the windows of your virtual machine appear as individual windows on your host machine. Mossberg tested it, and liked it. So for you Mac and Linux users who need the occasional use of Internet Exploder or Outlurk, "Unity" lets it all be seamless. No more switching from your host Mac desktop into virtual Windoze desktop just to check your Outlurk Calendar.

At the event right now in Anaheim. Things aren't looking so great. I asked the girl at the registration table about the "vouchers" and she had no idea. She just said we get a free t-shirt at the end after filling out the eval form I'm gonna be pissed for having to miss work to come to this thing and not get the voucher if there really isn't one.

Signed up. However, this event conflicts with my Vmware training. Have to choose between VMWARE and MS.

Update: Sat in on the first session and the speaker mentioned that the vouchers will be mailed out to us. It is necessary to complete the eval form though as it contains the mailing address so they know where to send stuff.

Yeah, just as in over a year ago...

I got tired of wasting a few gigs on my laptop. I have VMWare running XP on my quad core linux box. Anytime I need something from Windows I just RDC in.

The voucher was in the bag they gave out. It's a blue and yellow piece of paper about the size of a bumper sticker. The only thing they're mailing are the product discs.

Full Disclosure - I work for MS.

Which event did you go to? This was not the case at the Anaheim event. They *said* everything would come to us in the mail. I'm hoping that's the case....

jplee3,

I was at the Santa Clara event yesterday. I know that at both Anaheim and Santa Clara, the voucher was accidently placed in bag instead of being given out in exchange for the eval as intended. Going forward, it'll be given in exchange. But, if you didn't keep the bag because you thought the voucher would be mailed, please PM me.
