As a note to anyone thinking about buying this flooring. Beware, I would only recommend this flooring for smaller rooms and small installation areas with minimal traffic.
I did about ~600 sq. feet two years ago and it has held up okay.
I had some installation issues. For instance the planks were bowed in areas preventing an easy install. The planks easily chipped when using the IKEA block to tap the planks into each other. The foam that you have to put down below the planks was a giant pain too.
The first room (living room) was a pain for me to get done. I blame it on first time installation. I did the dining room which connects seemlessly to the living room and I was able to rip up my carpet, old padding, pull s/taples, lay new padding, and put down planks in 8 hours time.
You must remove all s/taples!
Also, double check your floor as it does not pitch more than an 1/8" over 4 feet or you can run into problems with the planks staying together.
Lastly, if I were to do it again I would buy Pergo or something very close in style. The Pergo flooring has the padding adheared to the bottom of the plank. The planks are much thicker (1/2") than IKEA's (1/4") and quality is much better IMHO.
You get what you pay for! I may be a small minority, but you guys asked my opinion!
/end of rant.
EDIT: IKEA Plank thickness is 1/4", not 1/8". Was a mistype on my part. Thank you user Danas for pointing this out to me!
