Target is giving away $5 gift cards again. This time, the 8 pack 12oz cans are on sale for $2.50 each. They will give you a $5 GC when you purchase 5, bringing the total to $0.1875 per can.

I grabbed 15 packs yesterday, and will definitely head back tonight with my GC's to pick up a few more. This is also good on 18pks ($5 each), some dorritos, and some gatorade products. The $2.50 8 packs is the best deal though, since its the lowest cost item on their list.

The deal at my local super target (IL) is 12 packs of Pepsi products for $3.33/each and $5 GC for 5 packs. Works out to $2.33 per 12 pack, which is cheaper than most grocery store deals around here at the moment.

The 24 pack "cube" has been shrunk to a 20 pack "rectangular box." Stores still want as much as they charged for the cube. Never seen these 8 or 18 packs, but I'll have to go to Target this week to check it out.

That's a great deal. Time to get stocked up on caffeine!! Thanks OP!

I saw the shelf tags for this deal when I was in the store today and I got the impression from them that the deal required the purchase of chips in addition to the Pepsi products.

Yes. The 12 packs have been shrunk to 8 packs, and there is now 18 packs. Both are marketed as fridge friendly or some crap. $2.50 for a 12pack was too much IMO. Let alone that price for an 8pack.

Doing some more math this equals $2.25 for a 12 pack. It saves about a quarter across the 12, so not super hot.

I usually buy soda at the gas stations, 2x12 for 5.50

Not bad considering that the price for Pepsi (and Coke) seems to have risen a lot lately.

(NOTE that this is in Silicon Valley where $1 per 6 cans was always how I evaluated whether a deal was reasonable.)

I suspect the plan is to change to 8 and 16 packs and hope that people don't figure out that they are paying more than they used to pay for 12 and 24 packs.

Well, they changed 1/2 Gal ice cream to 1.75 Qts, and there was no uproar. How about 88oz of OJ instead of 96 in large jug? You can go on, and on, there is rarely a negative effect. People seem to be too ignorant to notice, or care...

And have you noticed the toilet paper getting narrower?
It made me wonder why it needs to be so wide. LOL

"NEW! With 33% Less Ass Fat!!" Can't wait for the auto industry to try a similar trick to reduce overall fleet MPG, by adding a sail to the roof.

Raising the price has a negative impact on the consumer......but downsizing the size or amount of the product while keeping the price the same (or even lowering it a bit) has a neutral(sometimes positive) effect on the consumer while effectively raising the price of the product for the manufacturer.......

Sneaky IMHO but unfortunately a common business practice today...

Dog food too has been re sized. At least Iams and Purina One have 17.5lb and 18lb bags respectively when they both used to be 20lb bags for the same price.
This is the new price increase, without a visible price increase. Lets reduce the amount in the bag, not lower the price and see if anyone notices. Shady if you ask me.
They always really hype it if the increase the amount in the bag. They should really hype it when the reduce it too.
I can see it now "17.5lbs for the same price as our 20lb bag".
I understand price increases are inevitable, but at least acknowledge you are doing it.

that's 480oz for $7.5, 480oz = 14.19L
Safeway is having a buy 2 get 3 free of the 2 liter bottles where each bottle is $2. So that's 10L for $4 or 20L for $8.

For anyone with a shopper's food in the area, there was a coupon for $5 off $20 spent on unilever products a few weeks ago. Pictured were some pepsi packs...possible good deal lurking there! FYI the Q was a manufacturer's coupon.
