Please don't kill me for question: Would this work with T-Mobile prepaid? Would it make sense with prepaid?

Not sure this a good deal. Can be had for much less on eBay.

Yes it will work with prepaid. Would make sense from a texting standpoint but not from a Blackberry email standpoint because that won't work with prepaid.

Cheapest Blackberry 7290 New on eBay is $89.95 so not sure where you get this information from.

It's a great deal and I don't think it will work with prepaid. I'm guessing deffinately not the internet.

if it's unlocked, it should work with tmobile prepaid, provided that you understand that some of it's features won't be available to you. As previously mentioned, you'll still get a nice keyboard for texting, and then, phone calls, of course..

beyond that though, I'm not sure. Probably nothing else, feature-wise.

Might be a good idea to get a proper plan before upgrading to a blackberry..

Cheapest price on eBay is $50, of which there are many - and there are tons at the $60 range.

Junking or selling them on eBay? Junking (i.e. throwing them out) is a pretty crappy thing to do to the environment. You might as well sell it so at least someone else can get some enjoyment out of it - and it doesn't end up in the landfill before it's time.

7290 is the worst and most unreliable model they ever made...since I've been supporting starting from the 6230/7230 models and up.
