OP needs to show correct specs... This is actually a good deal...

This deal comes with a Blu Ray BURNER. IT BURNS BR DISCS - it is not just a BR reader, DVD Burner like most. This has been confirmed! Box says "Plays & Creates Blu-Ray Discs, CDs and DVDs"

Try to add a BR burner at the Dell site, and it adds $400 to your order. That takes you beyond the "free" Mini computer, etc. etc. I tried every which way to get a laptop that burns BR discs for under $1150 with these specs, and it just ain't so - this week anyway. Since an old Dell died this week, now was a great time to upgrade.

However, the "under 20" staff at BB are morons. I went to two separate BB, and both blue shirts told me that it was only a BR reader... Both actually said that they had NOTHING on the floor that burned BR discs... If I was their manager they would be so fired - they didn't even bother to confirm. I finally went during the day shift, when they have adults working, and they still did not know, but at least they took time to confirm. This time they confirmed it burns BR and it even says so on the box. They also didn't make me go through Geek Squad, etc. I just paid for the item & walked out the door - no hassle to setup, etc. like some have said with other deals...

So...you get:
T8100
4GB RAM
320GB HD
256MB Nvidia 8600M Dedicated Video
Blu Ray BURNER - Slot-Loading

BB has a discount on Office 2007 this week if paired with a system. Because it comes with MS Works, you can buy the full MS Pro Upgrade for $279.99.

NOT BAD! OP needs to update post with correct specs & everyone else needs to lay-off the red

Yeah, little unsure why this is a horrible deal. Care to elaborate? $1150 at Best Buy or $1,536.75 with a mini using the ecode and 25% off coupon. Hmmmm... seems like you are actually paying for the mini. When you subtract $350 for the mini you are paying $1186.75. Saying it is "COLD AS ICE" is inaccurate.

Updated. Thank you Rhino. I wanted to throw it up there quick thinking people would check the link. Next time I'll know to post details.

Updated... I would have posted the deal, but I was too busy buying it. When I saw the post, I realized that no on knew it had a BR burner...

My old laptop just died this week and I didn't have time to wait for "the deal of the year". The BB flyer said that it had a BR burner but 3/4 employees said that it did not. I finally showed them the BB flyer for this week and had them get the box down. It says right on the box all of the specs.

Won't be the best deal of 2008, but I'm thrilled to get a lappie with a BR burner for $1150 the same week my old lappie died. I HAVE to have a working lappie ASAP, so I was thrilled to find a solid deal the very same day.

When I visited BB earlier in the week the same thing happened to me. The ad wasn't exactly clear whether or not it had a BR burner. I made them get the box down to read the specs.

So far, what do you think of the laptop? I want to do some light gaming and everyday tasks. From what I read the 8600M GT is adequate for gaming. Not the latest and greatest but then again the whole package is only $1150 and it has a lot of useful features.
