Thanks for all the red. I'm just trying to steer you guys clear of a bad deal. For example, right now you can get a Q8200 for $210 at Newegg. Last weekend you could get a Q8200 plus this exact motherboard at Frys for $200. That puts the value of this board at -$10, doesn't it? I'm sure you can find many of these unopened on eBay for next to nothing because people buy them to get the processor. I've personally bought a dozen or so frys combos with ECS boards over the last 5 years and guess how many systems I have running on ECS boards? Zero. They're THAT good.

I have this motherboard, got it from the 4th of July sale at Fry's with an E8400. It works okay except for the onboard NIC. It kept losing connection so I bought a cheap PCI NIC instead.

I've never had any problems with ECS boards with Intel chipsets. But I have to agree, that if you have a Frys nearby, you're better off waiting for the combo with the cpu flavor you want.

Shuttle used to make a SPDIF-to-optical adapter cable that you could route through an open PCI slot, but I believe it's been discontinued.

You can buy a 20-to-24 pin adaptor for like <$5 for your old PSU

My buddy runs his A64X2 and 9800GTX on a 7 year old Fortron 450w.

I use one too no problems came with my Coolmax PSU.
