I upgraded from the SD9 to the SD14 and bought from them - for $500 or so dollars a while back...

Very nice company and I wouldnt hesitate to buy from them again.

Which leads to the next question: price mistake?

Anyone know how good this camera is? This is the only review I found and it seems to give it a so-so rating Link

Oh yeah, and don't forget that the price is for the body only. You'll have to shell out additional money for a lens, unless you own some already.

So so, they claim they use special sensor to get better color reproduction, but the final results are not convincing. SD14 is also heavy and bulky, still lack live preview. The lens for this item is cheap, though.(at least cheaper than sigma lens for Canon and Nikon.)

Cameta camera has a store in eBay (cametauctions), unfortunately they use third-party checkout and can't get Cash Back from live.com.

No offense....but your title almost sounds like it's someone shilling for one of the camera scam stores. You might want to be more particular...ie say that it's from Cameta.

Cameta is a reputable dealer. I've dealt with them mainly on eBay in the past. Also check out their reseller ratings

This camera has been around this price for a while, atleast since the last time i look at it a couple of months ago. Don't fall for the savings from MSRP.

If you are getting this camera you better be sure what you are buying into. It is mostly for people with specific photography needs. Be sure to read the review on Amazon titled "The best 4.5 megapixel camera on earth".

wow, thats a hell of a deal

Was thinking of getting the Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS for ~$270 but this Sigma for Canon looks decent at $399, especially when the Canon's 18-200mm IS is going for ~$700.

Helpful suggestions?

Had it. It blows. Can't carry cannon's jock and I am talking about a 1D 4.2 mp classic.

Is the sigma sa mount compatible with one of the major brands like pentax, nikon etc?

That's why they are so cheap - they can't compare to standard digital SLRs from other manufacturers. The Nikon D80 walks all over the SD14. Also, the 14MP claim is bogus - that's number of 'fovian sensors' (which still don't compete with new CCDs) , but in effective pixels they are only a little over 4 megapixels. It also does terrible in low light and high ISO. I'm really not sure why anyone would consider this camera, even at this price -- an older Canon EOS rebel would easily outperform this camera, at about the same price point.

Wow where did these guys come from. Just looking at the forums, they are really low on some items
I bought the Nikon 18-105mm from a post on fatwallet, and just saw this one.
Looking around the site they have atleast 10 products that they are way lower than anyone else. I mean alot lower. If I get time I will post them
