Update: Monday is the last day...you still have time!
More free T-shirts for the community in October . . . with a twist!
The twist? Someone in the community (or maybe even you) will have designed your shirt. With Black Friday just around the corner, time is precious. So only the first 750 eligible Hot Deal posters will sport this shirt. Check out the
Design the FatWallet Black Friday T-shirt contest.
Here’s how to get this one of a kind, member designed, free T
Post a Hot Deal from one of our affiliated merchants.
--If it has a positive rating at the 24-hour mark…--
Check your PMs and/or email and follow the link to claim your prize.
October 23-27 the community will vote a T-shirt design favorite; and shirts will ship within two weeks.
You're wondering and we're answering
Why affiliated merchants? 'Cuz cotton doesn't grow on trees
Do they have to be Cash Back-eligible deals? - No.
Can I have more than one T-shirt? - One per person per promotion.
Did I make it? Where's my note; where's my T? - Patience, please. Messages process at 11:00 p.m. CST, 24 hours after topic launch. (For example: If your topic launched at 11:01 p.m., you won't receive notice for 47 hours, 59 minutes.)
Promotion begins October 9, 2008, 10:00 AM CST. Offer expires after 750 eligible Hot Deal topics or when we decide to pull the plug.
In case you're new to these parts, here's a little guidance to keep your deals "green" during this most serious shopping season:
what is the point of not starting the promotion until later tonight? Why not just start it now. I just made a post and it'll get green but hmmm, i wont get a shirt...

Yeah, 10:00 p.m. is getting to be a little late for some people, which is 11:00 EST.

So, my question from the last promo still applies as far as I can tell - let me know what the right approach would be...
Let's say I've already created an official coupon code thread for an affiliated merchant and I (or anyone, really) have been posting hot deals pertaining to that merchant in that same thread ever since, to cut down on new-thread clutter. But since I'm not creating a NEW hot deal post each time, the deals I'm posting wouldn't count in terms of qualifying for this giveaway. Right? But if I were to just go ahead and make a new thread for the next deal pertaining to that merchant in order to qualify for the freebie, the post would get locked (and therefore become ineligible) b/c there's already an official thread. So we've got a catch 22 in this case. Thoughts?

Yes I would think you can't continue a same deal in a new thread. Post a new deal. There's no catch 22 here it's pretty clear reposts do not apply.

I'm not talking about posting a "same deal". I'm talking about posting new deals that would otherwise be posted within the same "official" thread for that merchant rather than starting eleventy million new threads each time a new coupon code comes out.
Wow look at the flurry of worthless posts in HD's. Maybe mine too was worthless thought it got green. There's way too many with no love and they truly are wasteful.

We just have to post new deals. I've managed it, and you can too.

After your post and the list of eligible deals that the giveaway tool sent me this morning, we had an apiphany: Crikey! The giveaway tool didn't wait 24 hours before grabbing the first batch of eligibles and sending the notes!
So what do we do?
Fix the glitch of course - thanks for the catch. We couldn't and wouldn't retract the PMs; It's not FatWallet's style. All of you active members that posted deals that stayed green until 11 p.m. on Thursday, your deal agility (speedy deal posting) paid off. Cheers! Hope your deals stayed green!

Was there also a problem with the Tshirt design part? Sent my killer design before 11! Thanks!
