Just got this via email. If you're looking for a home warranty that covers everything in your home (all appliances, etc) then you can sign up for this one & get 25% off your total bill, $45 service calls (usually $60) & a free $50 Home Depot Gift card. Offer expires 10/8..

I've been using this company for a couple years and the service has been good. Had an AC unit replaced last year & saved a ton of money. Thread isn't to debate if a warranty is needed, if you want one then this is about the best deal you can get over the next couple days.

25% Off + a $45 Service Call Fee + a $50 Home Depot Gift Card = A GREAT DEAL.

What is the particulars of your house, and how

Thanks OP. Had been looking for One. Took a chance on this. Hope NHP is a good one!

I don't know anything about this company, but a quick Google search yields many complaints and some news reports of AG investigations in NY and NJ. Caution may be warranted - no pun intended.

I used to be their customer and have had bad experience.

Check out there better business bureau ratings
BBB

yeah, and look at the complaints the last 12 months compared to 12 to 36 months ago.
They've pretty much stopped responding to BBB the last year based on this info.
Scary, OP is probably a spammer for them.

I did the same thing and found a bunch of crap about them. Like this: Text

And for those of you that click that link, glance at the stoy and scream, "That's a different company! I refuse to believe it! I want this deal," if you read the story you'll see that National Home Protection is their new name. They're trying to avoid the legal trouble that they're in.

Does not offer coverage in the state of Virginia

After reading everything else in this thread, that's your main complaint? LOL

"Some consumers said they were offered Home Depot gift cards worth $50 to buy warranties from United Home Warranty and National Home Protection.
Jennifer King, a spokesperson for Home Depot's northern division said that United Home Warranty and National Home Protection are "in no way connected with Home Depot."

Wow.....thanks for posting the info.

OP....you really need to check out what you're posting *before* posting it. It can have horrible consequences for others.

OP's experiences were good. Surely you don't expect him to do your due diligence, do you?

I'm sure his experiences are good ..and if he can sucker enough folks into buying this warranty.. his bonus will be huge

You should have did your research first on something serious like a home warranty instead of getting excited by a gift card and hoping for the best.

I bought a contract with these guys two years ago thru a recomendation and then proceeded to read all the bad press about them. that'll teach me to buy and then research. duh!

I have tried to get service - they had no one under contract to perform A/C service - in the middle of the summer - in Dallas.

I generally think these things suck.

I just bought a house and it came with a year under AHS (American Home Shield).

I just discovered that my dishwasher timer isn't working (it runs all night long and wont stop) and now my garbage disposal is just humming.

I've not called them yet because I'm hesitant that they will end up screwing me out of more than 60 dollars, or at least try.

If you call them, and like in my case, I open a claim on the dishwasher and disposal, I wonder if its 60 dollars for each item or 60 for each visit.

I've read that if they have to send two disiplines, then its 60 for each, for someone who fixes dishwashers should also be able to fix a disposal.

I'd think. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd rather they just give me some replacement money and I'll add to it and upgrade to a stainless washer to match my other appliances.
